You see yourself as a Mentor first and you are looking for an opportunity to show off your skills in assisting with training and building a new Kitchen from the ground up and a resulting new Team that comes with it!This position would report into the Executive Sous Chef, where you will be overseeing production in our dedicated Hot and Cold Kitchen operations, which will be launching our new Ready to Eat direct to consumer product line of Appetizers, Sauces, Soups, and Meals.What You'll Be Doing:Leading our new Kitchen Team that will process, prep, cook, plate, and package a variety of Ready to Eat products for a direct to consumer delivery business.Responsible for the Kitchens labour, grocery, and supplies budget performance under a weekly rotating menu scheduleBe fully accountable for all product quality, taste, presentation as well as on time, and in full order fulfillment within a CFIA registered facilityEnsure the kitchen operates alongside provincial and federal health and safety codesEnsure we have the right equipment and supplies to keep up with ever expanding list of recipes and rapidly growing customer volumesWork to continuously improve processes and results, collaborating with other departments to execute facility-wide initiativesCollaboratively partner with our Purchasing and Warehouse teams to ensure we the have the right quality and quantity of ingredients on hand to meet customer orders, while reporting accurate ingredient yields and usageWhat We Are Looking For:Culinary Diploma or Culinary Red Seal required5 years of experience supervising productivity, efficiency, and process improvement in a commercial kitchen setting is required.5 years experience liaising with purchasing, quality assurance, and human resource departments is required.A problem solvers mentality; you see problems as opportunities and see the benefit of doing things differentlyStrong communication skills, ability to adjust your communication style to different audiences, relay information clearly and conciselyAbility to multitask, maintain efficiency, and deliver results on timeLow ego; you take feedback well, and are focused on getting to the best possible outcomeWhat You Can Expect:Schedule: Monday to Friday 6AM - 2PMCompetitive salary that recognizes your skills and experienceAn energetic, inclusive workplace where your voice matters and your contributions drive real impactComprehensive health benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance after 90 daysExclusive food perks that let you experience our amazing productsA culture that celebrates innovation, encourages professional development, and supports work-life balanceFresh Prep is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) and prohibit discrimination of any kind.
