With a well-established presence across multiple terminals, the organization prides itself on maintaining a high-performing fleet and fostering a collaborative workplace culture.We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and hands-on Reefer Shop Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our reefer maintenance facility in Kitchener, ON. This full-time, in-person role requires strong leadership, technical expertise in refrigerated systems, and the ability to manage and support a team of technicians across multiple shifts. The ideal candidate will bring a solid background in transport refrigeration, proactive problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency.Key Responsibilities:Supervise reefer shop operations and personnel, including hiring, training, performance management, and ensuring a safe work environment.Coordinate preventative maintenance and safety inspections for refrigerated equipment.Ensure compliance with quality, cost control, safety, and equipment availability standards.Collaborate with Truck and Trailer Shop Supervisors to manage scheduling and shift coverage.Provide on-the-road support and guidance to other terminal shops for reefer services.Maintain and strengthen vendor relationships, including local and national accounts.Diagnose reefer issues and make sound decisions regarding repair strategies.Monitor parts inventory, manage new reefer unit installations and oversee decommissioning of units.Maintain and repair transport refrigeration units when necessary.Address Occupational Health and Safety concerns in the shop. Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent required; factory training on Thermo King and/or Carrier preferred.Minimum of 8 years hands-on experience in reefer systems.Proven supervisory experience with strong leadership and communication skills.Valid G Class drivers license required.Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving abilities.Proficiency in fleet maintenance software and Microsoft Office Suite.
