We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented **Controller** to lead our accounting function and drive the financial success of the Company. **Position Overview:** The **Controller** will be responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial operations, and reporting directly to the President. You will play a key role in the companys financial health by ensuring accurate accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. This is a hands-on role that requires a process-minded professional with superior organizational and documentation skills, a strong customer service focus, and the ability to work independently. **Key Responsibilities:** * **Oversee daily accounting operations** including bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations and general ledger management. * **Be a business partner** to the rest of the company by analyzing data and creating reports to advise and inform stakeholders. * **Banking:** maintain relationships with our bankers. * **Lead month-end and year-end closing processes**, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements. * **Develop, document and implement** business process improvements, including optimization of an ERP system. * **Develop and manage the companys annual budget** and financial forecasts, providing analysis to support strategic decision-making. * **Maintain cash flow forecasting** to ensure efficient management of working capital. * **Prepare financial reports** for the President, providing insights on company performance, variances, and trends. * **Oversee** **compliance with tax regulations** and coordinate the preparation of tax filings. * **Support internal controls** and ensure the accuracy of financial records. * **Guide and mentor junior accounting staff**, fostering a culture of development. * Collaborate with other departments to provide **financial guidance** and support for business initiatives. **Qualifications:** * Bachelors degree in **Accounting, Finance, or a related field** (accounting designation is an asset). * **5+ years of progressive accounting experience**, with at least 2 years in a leadership role. * Strong understanding of **ASPE and IFRS** and accounting principles. * Experience in **budgeting, forecasting**, and financial analysis. * Excellent communication skills with the ability to **present financial data** clearly. * Strong proficiency using **Microsoft Excel and accounting software platforms.** * Strong attention to detail, with the ability to **multi-task** and meet deadlines. **Hours of Work** * Monday to Friday - 8 hours per day, starting at 0800, 0830, 0900 or 0930, as agreed upon between the employee and their manager. * Minimum hours of work each week is 40, unless otherwise agreed to between the employee and their manager. * Employee may be required to work additional hours, including weekends, when required. * Work is on location, with some flexibility for individual circumstances. **Why Join Us?** * Competitive salary and benefits package. * Opportunity to play a **pivotal role** in a manufacturing company. * **Collaborative work environment** with a focus on professional development.
