Position Summary: Reporting directly to the Project Director of AIM Roads and the CFO of Acciona Infrastructure Canada, the Finance Manager is responsible for delivering high-quality accounting, financial reporting, and strategic financial support to both internal and external stakeholders. This role ensures the accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of all financial activities within the project and company. Job Description: Key Responsibilities Collaborate with the project management team to implement and oversee the financial strategy of the project. Manage the economic resources required to meet company objectives, with a focus on optimizing cash flow and profitability. Lead and develop the finance and administration team to meet financial targets and support contract execution; identify resource gaps and opportunities for improvement. Oversee daily accounting and administrative operations, ensuring the performance and efficiency of the entire finance team. Develop and monitor budgeting procedures and tools to ensure accurate expenditure forecasts and variance analysis. Define, manage, and implement new processes as required by corporate or project leadership. Establish and enforce effective financial and administrative processes to ensure the production of reliable financial data. Coordinate core functions such as Accounting, Treasury, Internal Audit, and Financial Analysis. Manage relationships with financial institutions, clients, and external stakeholders as necessary. Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, Provincial, and local regulations, particularly those related to Occupational Health & Safety, construction, and the environment. Review and analyze monthly financial statements, profit & loss accounts, and budget deviations as required by corporate reporting standards. Evaluate current accounting systems and recommend improvements to enhance compliance and operational efficiency. Oversee account reconciliations and prepare financial reports. Follow corporate accounting standards and procedures for all financial analysis and reporting activities. Work closely with procurement and costing personnel to monitor purchase orders, deliveries, accruals, and invoices. Identify, investigate, and resolve accounting discrepancies in coordination with senior management. Core Functions Lead the financial and administrative teams to deliver on company financial objectives. Develop and implement robust financial and administrative procedures. Review monthly and quarterly financial statements in accordance with GAAP and IFRS. Manage treasury and cash flow activities. Prepare and maintain budgets and forecasts. Act as a liaison with external and internal auditors, legal advisors, and tax consultants. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to foster positive relationships across departments and stakeholders. Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a dynamic, multitasking environment. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (modeling, pivot tables, etc.). Strong financial modeling and data analysis skills. Analytical problem-solving ability with a proactive mindset. Skilled in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis. Thorough understanding of GAAP, IFRS, and relevant financial legislation. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Experience with project-based financial tracking and service/maintenance contracts is an asset. Familiarity with accounting systems such as Explorer and SAP are a plus. Demonstrated adaptability and resilience in fast-paced or evolving environments. Strong attention to detail with the drive to improve systems and processes continuously.
