Job Description

**Job Purpose** Northplex Ltd. is currently seeking a **Purchasing Assistant**. Based out of the Barrhead office, the Purchasing Assistant is directly responsible for coordinating the movement of purchased materials from suppliers and addressing any supply/supplier issues. They are responsible for ensuring items are delivered in a timely manner and that the production line has products readily available. The position requires high attention to detail and a willingness to learn, develop and collaborate. **Duties and Responsibilities** * Assist in coordinating the movement of purchased materials, * Assist in compiling data from vendors and supporting documents to verify accuracy in order to ensure receipt of ordered items, * Communicate all delays/changes of materials, inbound items to relevant internal departments, * Conduct research on potential products * Contact suppliers regarding errors in partial or duplicate shipments, prices and substitution * Communicate all delays or variances of inbound freight to the appropriate parties * Investigate causes of lost or damaged shipments and other matters * Investigate causes of lost, damaged or delayed shipments and make adjustments or conduct negotiations for solutions as necessary, * Performs other related duties as required. **Qualifications** Grade 12 High School Diploma or equivalent is required, * Experience in purchasing or modular construction considered an asset, * Proficient in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis in Excel * Experience and proficiency in Sage considered and asset * Strong attention to detail with the ability to stay focused for extended periods * Team-oriented with the ability to work independently * Strong work ethic and a positive, team-focused attitude * Excellent collaboration and team-building abilities * Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal departments and business partners * Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills * Highly organized with effective prioritization and follow-up skills * Able to perform tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment * Strong communication skills, both verbal and written * Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately * Open to learning and adapting to new systems and processes We thank all candidates for their applications.
