**Hours:** Sunday to Wednesday, 1-11pm OR Wednesday - Saturday, 1-11pm **Pay:** $29.04 per hour plus benefits **About the Role** Alpha House operates multiple Place-Based Supportive Housing (PBSH) programs across Calgary, focused on providing care to individuals with complex needs and supporting long-term housing stability. These programs are built on our core valuesmeeting participants where they are at, eliminating barriers to entry, and offering a safe, compassionate space to address addiction and mental health challenges. As part of Alpha Houses Leadership Team, Team Leads provides leadership to teams of front-line staff and are expected to assist other Team Leads with crisis management, critical incident debriefing, hiring interviews and conducting performance reviews. Team Leads are also expected to provide direct care, support and services to clients, as needed. **Team Lead Responsibilities** Our Team Leads are an important part of our leadership team. The responsibilities of a Team Lead would include the following: * Lead by example with compassionate, non-judgmental client interactions * Address client grievances; escalate serious concerns to the Program Manager * Supervise, coach, and discipline front-line staff; conduct performance reviews * Ensure respectful workplace practices; address staff concerns and serious issues * Maintain adequate shift coverage and accurate staff timekeeping * Respond to crises and ensure staff and client safety protocols are followed * Oversee medication administration and client medical needs * Liaise with community partners, police, EMS, and respond to local concerns * Support staff performance through check-ins, meetings, and team collaboration * Ensure program supplies, vehicle maintenance, and hygiene protocols are maintained * Manage client funding, treatment referrals, and file audits * Oversee data tracking, reporting, and financial record-keeping (e.g. floats, rent) * Ensure proper delivery of client programming and adherence to collaborative agreements **About You** The ideal candidate would have the following: * Post-Secondary Education from a public educational institution, in a relevant field, minimum of a 2-year Diploma Program, Bachelors degree preferred. Those in progress may be considered. * A minimum of 2 years of experience successfully leading a team * A minimum of four years related experience, at least three of which includes direct experience, in addictions, mental health, the homeless population or the indigenous * An understanding of addictions including: withdrawal management, harm reduction, stages of change, trauma informed care and recovery-oriented systems of care * Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to communicate with discretion and maintain confidentiality of clients, staff concerns & disciplinary procedures * Experience in facilitating and debriefing groups is an asset * Must be tolerant, non-judgmental with a high degree of compassion and empathy towards the homeless and those struggling with addictions and or mental health * Proven crisis management, problem solving skills, rapport-building and advocacy skills * Belief in harm reduction and housing first * Must have the ability to work shift work, including overnights nights * Computer literacy, including effective working skills in MS Word, Excel and Outlook * An understanding and appreciation for the Protection of Persons in Care Act **Position Requirements:** * Proof of COVID vaccination * Class 5 (Non GDL) driver license and willingness to obtain a Class 4 license * Comfortable in driving an agency van * Have a vehicle that can be used for business purposes * Be able to physically assist clients from prone to sitting or standing, and vice versa * Able to provide a Vulnerable Sector Search, valid within the last six months * Ability to obtain FOIP Certification and Lift training **About Alpha House** Alpha House is dedicated to providing safe, caring, and respectful environments for individuals dealing with addiction and mental health challenges.
