*Edge Machine Operator* **Job Description** **EDGE MACHINE OPERATOR** Emperor Stone Imports and Trades Ltd. NOC Group: NOC 9414 Department: Fabrication Reports to: Operations Manager **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**: * Quality Control. Efficiently operate the Edge Polishing machine in order to attain the required precision edges for each job. Prior to polishing assigned pieces, preview the Autocad drawings and templates to ensure polished edges are correct. Ensure the correct material is on hand. Accuracy rate is 98% for square footage processed. After job is completed, record the time to process the job and certify it is correct on the requisite Quality Control sheet. Provide QC sheets to operation manager for review. * Abide by OSHA requirements and established company procedures. Attendance at weekly and monthly training sessions is required. Compliance is mandatory. * Operation and Maintenance of Equipment. Directly responsible for the maintenance and safe operation of all equipment assigned to you. Clean assigned work areas and equipment at the end of each day. Coordinate repairs of equipment as needed. Maintain and operate equipment in accordance with operating manuals and procedures, and maintain your assigned work area in a high state of cleanliness/readiness. Operate and maintain equipment in an environmentally controlled and safe environment. * Submit the following report/information by the end of each work day in accordance with established procedures/formats: Completed work and total linear footage cut; errors or remakes including contributing factors. * Edge Polishing Operation. Efficiently operate the Edge Polisher that will enable us to produce 425 square feet of manufactured goods in an eight hour shift. Process jobs only is you have the quality control form and status verification sheet, approved drawings and specification and/or templates. At the completion of the of the job, complete required quality control sheets and status verification sheets. Ensure all work is properly Quality Control prior to hand off to CNC operator. Operate the Edge Polisher in an environmentally controlled and safe environment. * Safeguard your assigned equipment. Theft of company property is not tolerated and is cause for termination of employment. Secure assigned equipment, as applicable in wall lockers or compartment. The plant is under 24-hour surveillance by security cameras and devices. * Track footage for bit life and note brick changes for reorder in time to get brick in before running out of bricks. * Maintain and grease the equipment. Keep records of all maintenance. * To clean up area at the end of the shift. **NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**: * Attend all required meetings. * Other job related duties as may be assigned from time to time by management. **EDUCATION/SKILLS** REQUIRED: * A high school diploma or GED. * Possess a high work ethic, moral and personal integrity and honesty. * Be able to effectively communicate with others. * Be mature, flexible and self-motivated. * Be able to function independently, yet be an effective team member. **EXPERIENCE** REQUIRED: * Have an adequate knowledge of the basic safe usage of same or similar equipment. DESIRED: * 3-5 Years experience running the same equipment. **SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:** None **WORKING CONDITIONS/ENVIRONMENT:** The position is in a factory environment with heat, but without air conditioning. Workplace noise is in the heavy range, typical of factory environments. Job will be loud, noisy, dusty and/or dirty.
