Learn more. **Working for the Department of Psychiatry** Psychiatry is a department in the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Alberta. Our department couples basic science with clinical research to promote world-class investigations on issues relevant to mental health. The Department also has a diverse group of outstanding scientists who are internationally recognized. These scientists are carrying out some of the leading-edge research in neuropsychiatry, mood and anxiety disorders, and schizophrenia. **Position Summary** The Program Assistant provides direct high-level administrative, program coordination and implementation support for the continued development, research, and education of mental health literacy initiatives tailored to healthcare professionals, educators, and community stakeholders. Working directly under the guidance of the Project Director, the incumbent is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of program deliverables, stakeholder communications, provincial, national, and international training events, digital outreach, and financial operations. This position is central to the smooth functioning, credibility, and innovation of a high-profile, national mental health initiative, and demands 5+ years of direct experience with the mental health literacy program, post-secondary education in health or social sciences, and a proven ability to operate at both strategic and executional levels. **Duties** * Serves as the primary contact for the Mental Health Literacy Stream of TIME4MH * Coordinates logistics and timelines for all training and outreach events, including travel-based national sessions. * Independently manages stakeholder communications, including clinician, educator and community outreach. * Assists Project Director in planning and stakeholder reporting. **Qualifications** * Post secondary education in Health, Education, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field * Over 5 years of specialized experience in mental health literacy, program delivery, and stakeholder engagement * Advanced knowledge of program administration, budget management, and project coordination * Strong understanding of digital tools including content management systems, Excel, Google Workspace, SharePoint, and Adobe Creative Suite * Familiarity with institutional and health-related protocols (e.g., FOIP, HIA) At the University of Alberta, we are committed to creating an inclusive and accessible hiring process for all candidates.
