Our stores go above and beyond the typical grocery experience by offering a wide array of gourmet meals, freshly baked goods, and curated, hard-to-find pantry items. We are seeking a passionate and experienced **Prepared Foods Manager** to lead the Prepared Foods department at our __________ location. This role is perfect for a motivated leader who thrives in a culinary-driven, customer-focused environment and is excited about developing people, reducing waste, building sales, and delivering an exceptional food experience. **Position Summary** The Prepared Foods Manager is accountable for the overall success of the department, including inventory and waste control, product ordering, merchandising, sales building, customer service, and team management. You will work closely with our Commissary Kitchen to maintain daily freshness, promote new items, and ensure the highest level of quality and efficiency. **Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management & Ordering** * Maintain optimal inventory levels through accurate forecasting and ordering from our Commissary Kitchen. * Ensure daily product freshness by executing stock rotation (FIFO), managing shelf life, and reducing shrink. * Analyze product movement and adjust par levels as needed to align with seasonal and promotional demand. **Sales Growth & Merchandising** * Build department sales through attractive displays, smart merchandising, and effective cross-promotion. * Support the rollout and in-store visibility of new items by coordinating with marketing and kitchen teams. * Monitor sales reports to identify trends, optimize product mix, and respond to customer preferences. **Waste Reduction** * Implement and monitor procedures to reduce spoilage and minimize food waste. * Engage team members in waste awareness practices and maintain accurate tracking of product loss. **Customer Engagement** * Provide knowledgeable and friendly service to customers, making product recommendations and addressing inquiries with enthusiasm. * Act as a liaison between customers and the kitchen, sharing feedback and responding to special requests or dietary needs. **People Leadership** * Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team, including scheduling, onboarding, and regular performance feedback. * Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture focused on food excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. * Ensure team compliance with food safety, health & safety, and company policies at all times. **Qualifications** * Minimum 3 years of experience in food retail, grocery, or hospitality management (prepared foods or deli experience preferred). * Food Handler Certification required. * Strong understanding of inventory systems, ordering platforms, and waste tracking processes. * Passion for food and strong working knowledge of culinary products, trends, and customer preferences. * Proven leadership experience with excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills. * Able to work in cooler/freezer environments and lift up to 50 lbs as needed. * Flexible availability to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as business demands. **Perks of Joining Summerhill Market** * Weekly pay * Employer-paid benefits for full-time employees * Flexible scheduling * Generous employee discount * Internal growth and training opportunities * Supportive and inclusive team culture * Complimentary Summerhill Market uniform shirts **Equity Statement** At Summerhill Market, we are an equal opportunity employer that values and encourages diversity in the workplace.
