Fire+ is Canadas premier fire protection and life safety solutions provider. We are currently seeking a driven, strategic, and experienced Service Manager. Key Responsibilities: Overseeing the technical and function operations of the Burnaby office. This position is tasked with ensuring adherence to applicable Fire and Building Codes and standards, National, Provincial and Local. Under the direction of the Western Operations Manager, they will be primary and key in maintaining company standards and implement industry practices in the areas of service coordination, operational management, code compliance, technical expertise, personnel & staffing. Job duties & performance expectations: Maintenance and inspection of all Fire and Life Safety systems to applicable codes and company standards. Monitor non-compliance and timely completion of deficiencies. Planning and oversight of all Fire Projects and Inspections in line with company and industry standards. Oversee Service coordination team and work directly with the Lead coordinator to ensure technicians are fully booked each day Evaluate operation of Fire alarm, Fire Suppression, Fire extinguishers & Building emergency systems by inspecting, recording and scheduling maintenance repairs as required to ensure company inspection and maintenance standards are upheld. Ensure tenant premises are inspected as per established standards and confirm completion of non-compliance items. Ensure technicians are completing reports, reporting deficiencies and entering parts in a timely manner. Review drawings, blueprints for code compliance and recommend modifications as required. Collaborate closely with Project Management, Operations and tenants prior to and throughout construction projects and ensure fire verification requirements are met. Develop, implement and supervise operational procedures, processes and standards to facilitate ongoing and effective Fire & Life Safety Management practices. Support the Sales team with technical knowledge. Ensure technicians and verification personnel are certified, qualified, experienced and trained to be classified as "certified technicians" and completing quality work. Administrative work including but not limited to: approving technician hours, per diems, overtime and emergency callouts. Other duties as assigned. What your strengths are: Understanding the aspects of the Fire Protection industry Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and plans. A minimum of 3 years working in a fire and life safety capacity and 1 year in a supervisory capacity. Knowledge of WorkSafe/WCB requirements and industry techniques and emergent trends in Fire & Life Safety. Knowledge of building operating systems and maintenance of fire and life safety systems and equipment. Knowledge and understanding of all applicable fire and life safety related laws, bylaws, regulations and codes for the provincial, federal and municipal requirements Digital literacy in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint or similar software Solid understanding of NFPA Standards, fire safety system and suppression equipment/methods.
