Orchard Recovery Center is looking for a employee to start ASAP as an Awake Overnight LPN position. We are a small, provincially licensed, CARF accredited alcohol and drug rehabilitation center based on the 12 steps. The three shifts will be 8:30pm to 9am (12 hrs) or 7pm to 9am (14 hrs) dependent on the day of the week under a compressed work week. These shifts will include statutory holidays. Please see our web site for info on our company www.orchardrecovery.com Duties: Provide overnight medical care for clients, some who may might be in the early stages of drug and alcohol detoxification Dispense medication to clients Charting on each client Care for clients experiencing acute mental distress as part of the medical team and management team Build relationships with clients to encourage trust, while listening to and interpreting their needs and concerns ,discuss the best way to plan and deliver their care as part of the medical team and management team Ensure the correct administration of medication, including injections, and monitor the results of treatment Respond to distressed clients in a non-threatening manner and attempt to understand the source of distress. Apply ''de-escalation'' techniques to help people manage their emotions and behaviour. Ensure that the legal requirements appropriate to a particular setting or group of clients are observed. Assess capacity and obtain informed consent and, where clients lack capacity to consent, have the ability to work within a legal and ethical framework. Promote a ''recovery'' based approach to care. Medication inventory and reporting Required Skills: Ability to work with minimal supervision Detail/Task oriented to ensure that all procedures are followed Exceptionally reliable Care and compassion for clients in early stages of drug and alcohol recovery, whose behavior may exhibit as suicidal ideation, emotional dysregulation, anxiety, paranoia, depression or in physical limitations Basic computer skills (Windows, Microsoft Office) Graduation from an accredited LPN program is required Ability to pass a criminal records check Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training Additional Skills (beneficial): Practical knowledge of a alcohol/drug based 12 step program Job Type: Full-time Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour Benefits: Commuter benefits Company events Dental care Discounted or free food Extended health care On-site gym On-site parking Work Location: In person Expected start date: 2025-09-07
