Job Description

We are currently searching for a part time or supply Early Child hood Assistant for our North York Locations. The successful applicant MUST submit a resume and be available between Monday-Friday 3-6pm at least 3 times per week. Please indicate your availability when you apply for the position. Any additional conditions of employment, including, but not limited to, the requirement to hold a valid early childhood education license or present a satisfactory police background check, will be communicated to the successful candidate when the offer of employment is made. Part time Assistant will work approximately 15 hours per week if available between Monday-Friday. Supply Assistant has no guarantee of hours. Only applicants who specify their availability on their resume will be considered. The daycare has a strong reputation in the community. The successful candidate must be open to and capable of working with children from infants, toddlers, preschoolers and school-agers. Childcare experience is a definite asset . Responsibilities and Duties The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation and planning of an age-appropriate inclusive play-based learning and care program which enhances their cognitive, social, physical and emotional development of children in his/her care.Help children with French language homework.Implements an anti-bias curriculum by promoting diversity and acceptance of individual differences.Facilitates and guides the development and behaviour of children.Implements individual plans (IPs) by integrating identified goals into the daily program & routines.Establishes routines with clearly identifiable transition periods.Consults with specialists and other professionals regarding additional support.Conducts child observations and prepares reposts as assigned.Promotes the centre's philosophy and communicates issues to parents in a positive, professional and respectful manner.Forms collaborative partnerships with familiesKeeps accurate records of: daily attendance, daily activity plans.Attends regular staff meetings and participates by contributing information.Performs housekeeping and simple meal preparation/setupAbility to clearly present thoughts and to ask specific questions to clarify.Ensures health and safety of each child. Qualifications and Skills The rate is $26.20 for a Registered Early Childhood Educator (This rate does not include the Provincial wage enhancement)The centre will apply for the Provincial Wage Enhancement grant for 2024 if available.Successful candidates will require a fresh criminal reference, CPR (level C) certified and have a health form filled out with Ministry required immunizations.
