Job Description

This is a seasonal contract Work is out of town Summary Contribute to successful JDK Pole Maintenance Inc. operations by carrying out general laborer duties for pole testing, treatment and mesh installations. Duties and responsibilities Always represent JDK Pole Maintenance Inc in a professional manner and report any concerns to the Field Foreman/Team Lead. Maintain a strong business relationship with all clients and stakeholders; respond to customer concerns in a prompt and efficient manner while reporting any issues or incidents to the Field Foreman/Lead Hand/Supervisor immediately. Communicating with landowners as required by Field Foreman/ Team Lead. Preform all work activities that are required for the test and treatment program. This includes shoveling, testing, treating, meshing and managing data. This also includes managing all materials and equipment used daily on the work site. Support the team's work quality, quota planning as required. Take part/support daily safety tail boards that identify / mitigate hazards that are part of daily work activities. Ensure fully understand Laborer daily roles/responsibilities and safety requirements while on the job which include understanding of all hazards, mitigation plan and emergency response plans as per daily job planning. Full understanding and adhere to JDK Pole Maintenance Inc safety policies and procedures as well as where to find the appropriate info as needed. Willing to work away from home for extended periods of time in western Canada as required. You will be required to travel frequently to assigned customer sites. Assist Lead Hand in Managing/maintaining and servicing all tools/equipment/vehicles required that are used daily. Drive the company truck, trailer, ATV, UTV, and Argos with care and attention follow JDK Pole Maintenance Inc. safety rules and procedures when required by Lead Hand or Supervisor. Assist in Diagnose and fix minor problems, schedule/coordinate major work as needed and understand/ communicate with others on how to properly maintain equipment. Maintain records of services performed as needed. Adhere to all JDK Pole Maintenance Inc. policies and procedures (Vehicle, safety, correspondence, housekeeping) Vehicles/equip to be organized and kept clean to ensure proper housekeeping for all individuals working together. Support bi-weekly inspection of truck and equipment is completed. May be required to deliver hotshot requests and install equipment on site as needed. Upon supervisor's request, you will be required to work in the shop occasionally Must adhere to JDK Pole Maintenance Inc. Drug and Alcohol Policy Other duties as assigned by Foreman/Team Lead/ Supervisors Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities) Driver's License with acceptable driver's abstract Valid H2S Alive if required Valid Standard First Aid with CPR if required Ability to haul a trailer, an asset Must have steel-toed work boots Work both shop and field days Work in various elemental conditions, e.g. rain, snow, heat, cold, etc. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing May be required to perform repetitive heavy lifting up to 50 pounds Mechanical aptitude, experience with a variety of hand tools.
