About us The Lighthouse Learning and Development Centre is a private school and ABA therapy center that services individuals on the Autism Spectrum.Instructor Therapist General Responsibilities Under the direction of a Registered Behaviour Analyst (RBA), ABA Supervisors, and Executive Administration, this position requires delivery of front-line one-to-one teaching based on the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis. The person in this position is responsible for implementing a program created by the RBA and other senior administration which is based on individual skills assessments and taught in a natural learning environment. Instructor Therapist Responsibilities Application of Applied Behavioural Analysis principles to 1:1, group instruction and natural environment scenarios Application of behavioural concepts to group instruction Daily implementation and tracking of ABA Programming Implementation of Speech and Occupational Therapy Programs Behaviour Management of clients Data collection and tracking Completion of Behavioural Assessments Implementation of behavioural protocols Implementation of self-regulation and anxiety management strategies Create and implement use of program materials Implementation of ABLLS and AFLS assessments, & other assessments if required Consultation with RBA, ABA Supervisors, Speech and Language Pathologist and Occupational Therapist Student program binder maintenance: Daily data sheet creation Updating program target lists Daily graph completion Completion of student maintenance programs Completion of daily progress of client's session in the communication books Completion of their primary's monthly update reports at the end of the month Implementation of communication devices Assist students with self-help skills such as toileting, changing diapers/clothes, etc. Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications The successful candidate will have demonstrate knowledge of: Applied Behaviour Analysis, the necessary principles and application of theory into practice for effective instruction and positive behavioural supports that are beneficial for implementation with all students, displays the ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, school based staff, students, parents, community members and any other professionals. Overall, the support person possesses excellent human relations skills and a working knowledge of the English language in written and verbal form. Physical Requirements Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with students, other faculty, staff and parents as normally defined by the ability to see, read, talk, hear, handle, or feel objects and controls. The position also entails significant walking, bending, standing, stooping and possible physical interventions in order to maintain a safe learning environment. Assignment may require the ability to physically move students or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, position students in specialized equipment, and/or toileting if needed.
