Business and Real Estate Lawyer We are currently seeking an experienced associate to join our commercial, corporate and real estate law firm. The successful candidate will be motivated and ambitious. Roles & Responsibilities All areas of commercial real estate including preparation of agreements of purchase and sale, mortgage commitments, leases, easements, charges, estoppels, title and off-title searches, notices, applications, discharges, and requisition letters. All areas of secured lending including experience working with the major banks, reviewing commitments, drafting checklists/ documents, reviewing searches and communicating with the various parties. All areas of business law including share and asset acquisitions and dispositions, corporate reorganizations, incorporations, amalgamations, revivals, shareholder agreements, employment agreements, contract drafting, review and negotiation, PPSA filings and financing. Required Skills & Qualifications Be a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario 2-5 years of work experience at a real estate law firm Computer skills: MS Office, Unity, Teraview, Cyberbahn, Ecore and NetDocuments etc. Handle all aspects of commercial real estate transactions Review complex loan commitments and documents Draft security documents Excellent communication skills and attention to detail Strong analytical, research and writing skills Ability to handle competing priorities and meet tight deadlines Demonstrated ability to prioritize & work under pressure Self-motivated whether working independently or in a team environment Strong business judgement coupled with the ability to build client relationships Excellent and flexible team player Organized and possess excellent time management skills Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Benefits: * Extended health care * On-site parking * Paid time off Schedule: * Monday to Friday Experience: * commercial real estate law: 2 years (preferred) * commercial lending: 2 years (preferred) Work Location: In person
