Civeo Premium Services is seeking a results-driven Category Specialist to join our team on a term basis. This position reports directly to the Supply Chain Director. In this role, you will lead cross-functional internal teams and apply a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) approach to ensure Civeo remains an industry leader in category spend management. Management of a defined area of category spend includes preparation and review of RFPs, negotiating, drafting and managing contracts, managing supplier relationships, internal stakeholder engagement, and identifying & delivering value savings. Note: This is a temporary role for up to 9 months with possible extension. Key Responsibilities Provide in-depth category knowledge based on professional qualifications and/or extensive experience in Category Management, including development of Category Plans within your span of control. Serve as the internal SME for the spend category, offering market and category intelligence, and influencing Category plan updates. Deliver annual value savings. Build and manage a specialized service delivery team for internal stakeholders, bridging Business Requirements and market capabilities. Conduct regular benchmarks of values with relevant stakeholders. Manage senior-level relationships within the category. Develop Supplier Relationship Management plans for all suppliers, applying Account Management & Governance practices. Analyze supplier performance data, lead meetings, and manage supplier profiles. Rationalize the existing supplier base. Act as an escalation point and assist in resolving supplier performance issues. Draft and manage RFPs in a consistent format, negotiate pricing and terms to demonstrate value. Coordinate with all relevant functions. Evaluate and improve processes, systems, and controls for continuous improvement. Establish and monitor valid supply contracts, consolidating multiple contracts into Framework agreements where applicable. Utilize technology (e.g., e-Sourcing, Contract Management systems) to enhance role effectiveness. Ensure effective communication of contracts to internal stakeholders. Maintain compliance with corporate policies and procedures, ensuring control processes are followed. Coordinate pre-planning of material requirements with operations, providing forecasting and costing. Ensure efficient order flow from procurement to payment. Drive improvements in vendor performance related to quality, delivery, and cost. Monitor service levels to meet customer requirements. Manage pricing levels in JDE system and directly purchased products. Qualifications Minimum 4 years of Supply Chain or Category Management experience. SCMA Level 4 or SCMP designation is an asset. Experience in Service, Hospitality, or related industries. Experience with JD Edwards or similar ERP systems. Strong influencing and change management skills. Proven negotiation skills. Ability to lead projects, prioritize, and resolve issues independently. Conceptual understanding of system flows to resolve issues. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work under pressure. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
