Your Role in This Mission Be the Go-To Labour Relations Specialist Act as the organizations lead on all matters related to labour relations in B.C. Advise senior leaders and HR partners on interpreting collective agreements, aligning policy with operations, and identifying potential risks. Turn organizational goals into labour relations strategies that drive employee engagement and operational continuity. Own the Bargaining Table Lead collective bargaining initiatives from strategic planning through to agreement implementation. Represent the organization as the Lead Negotiator, ensuring alignment across executive leadership, communications, and government affairs. Foster Strong Union Partnerships Serve as the key liaison with union leadership to promote mutual understanding and resolve issues collaboratively. Facilitate joint labour-management forums and employee relations councils to maintain constructive, goal-aligned dialogue. Drive Proactive Labour Relations Practices Oversee the grievance and arbitration process, using data and analytics to identify emerging trends and risks. Implement tracking systems and reporting tools to support evidence-based decision-making. Support and Educate Leaders Collaborate with learning and development teams to deliver tailored training for leaders navigating unionized environments. Create practical tools and resources that boost leadership confidence and improve the employee experience. Your Background and Expertise Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, or a closely related field. Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience in unionized settings, with at least 5 years specializing in labour relations. Demonstrated experience leading negotiations, resolving grievances, and managing arbitration cases. Strong grasp of employment legislation and collective agreement administration in B.C. Strategic thinker with a keen ability to assess complex scenarios and recommend thoughtful, impactful solutions. Skilled communicator and relationship-builder across all organizational levels.
