**Categories:** Service **Location(s):** Owen Sound **Types:** Part Time **DEPARTMENT: FOOD SERVICES** **LOCATION: OWEN SOUND** **UNION AFFILIATION: OPSEU SERVICE** **STATUS: PART-TIME** **WAGE RATE: $26.426 $27.085** Reporting to the Food Services Supervisor, the Food Service Worker is responsible for the preparation and service of safe, high quality food to patients. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Required:** * High School Diploma or equivalent * Ability to follow written and verbal job instructions (to be tested) * Ability to follow basic arithmetic calculations (to be tested if necessary) * Ability to demonstrate correct lifting and carrying techniques of items weighing in range of 10-50 lbs (to be tested) * Ability to work independently and as a member of a team * Ability to meet Public Health standards related to food handling * Ability to meet physical demands (prolonged standing, frequent bending, twisting, reaching, pulling and pushing of retherming & support carts) * Excellent interpersonal skills * Ability to work all shifts * Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record * Adherence to Brightshores CARE Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and LEAD Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others) and a commitment to a safe workplace free of violence and harassment * Advocates and supports a culture of patient safety and demonstrates an understanding of how the department service and assigned responsibilities contribute to overall patient safety at Brightshores through patient safety knowledge, skills and attitudes **Preferred** * Food Handler Certificate within past 5 years * Experience working in an institutional food service environment
