Were looking for someone who enjoys a dynamic, fast-paced environment, loves to learn new things, and wants to build a career helping and supporting people behind the scenes. **WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?** The ideal candidate must: * Have strong attention to detail and take pride in ensuring every order and repair is completed to the highest standard * Be an effective communicator, able to work independently and as part of a team * Be flexible, adaptable, and ready to shift priorities to meet real-time patient and clinic needs * Be motivated to learn and continuously improve their skills and knowledgeThrive in a fast-paced environment and stay organized under pressure * Take initiative, troubleshoot problems confidently, and stay focused on delivering an exceptional patient experience behind the scenes **Key Responsibilities** * Greet and assist patients in-person and through email, text, and phone, ensuring questions are answered and needs are met with care and efficiency * Support a smooth and welcoming patient experience by checking patients in and out for appointments, including verifying demographics, entering insurance information, collecting payments, scheduling follow-up visits, answering questions, and assisting with retail purchases * Manage the doctors schedules and waitlists to ensure efficiency and minimize gaps, in collaboration with the rest of the Front Desk team * Conduct pretesting for patients based on appointment type and clinical notes, ensuring imaging is accurate and equipment is prepared for the following day * Administer diagnostic drops as needed upon patient arrival, as permitted within the scope of training and certification (e.g., CCOA) * Maintain timely patient flow by adhering to the appointment schedule and ensuring effective communication between team members * Answer phone calls and return voicemails and texts promptly, appropriately triaging symptoms or concerns to schedule necessary appointments * Keep workstations fully stocked with supplies, such as appointment cards, debit machine rolls, and stationery, and complete assigned daily tasks as scheduled * Contribute to a positive team environment and uphold a high standard of patient care and professionalism across all clinic areas * Stay flexible, organized, and proactive in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift to meet real-time patient needs **EXPERIENCE** * Previous experience in optical, healthcare, customer service, or retail is preferred * Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a focus on patient care and teamwork * Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment * Comfort with technology, including EMR systems, email, faxing, and scheduling software * Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information * Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members * CCOA certification is an asset, but not required (training may be provided) Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities, qualifications, or skills associated with this position. **WHO ARE WE?** * Were a vibrant and progressive, full-service optometry office located on the shores of Lake Huron * We work hard, learn all the time, and find time for team fun and growing our office culture * We strive to treat our patients as if they were family and to deliver an eye care experience that outshines the rest **WHAT DO WE OFFER?** * Competitive pay, including raises for years of service and specific training * Flexible scheduling options * On-the-job training * Growth opportunities * A patient focused team environment * Team events and celebrations including conferences * Vision care and extended health benefits * Paid vacation and personal time We welcome and encourage applications from people with all abilities.
