The Maintenance position is responsible for ensuring that the buildings and facilities are maintained in good order, while ensuring a preventative maintenance schedule is developed and carried out. The timely ordering of supplies and equipment is necessary to support the maintenance plan and the position must ensure no gaps in service to internal or external contracts. **PERKS** Inclusive and supportive teams Welfare benefits for permanent employees Professional development Employee and Family Assistance Program Recognition Program we recognize those who raise the bar and demonstrate exemplary performance **RESPONSIBILITIES** Performs ongoing and routine maintenance of building and facilities by: Performing and carrying out quarterly checks of all facilities and equipment and identifying maintenance requirements, Carrying out daily routine and basic building maintenance, repairs, and inspections as required and detailed in the Building Preventative Maintenance checklist, Carrying out other tasks as required such as cleaning and/or ground maintenance as requested by the Property Manager, Reporting any major repairs and maintenance which are needed to the Property Manager, Collaborating with other maintenance staff and assisting tradespeople with electrical, plumbing, HVAC as required, Maintaining accurate records of all repairs completed, Maintaining an inventory of equipment and supplies needed for the execution of the job and reporting these needs to the Property Manager, Maintains interior finishes such as wall coverings like painting and drywall, Working in a safe and healthy manner using the measures and procedures, and protective devices required, Actively participating in the identification of workplace hazards with the aim of continuously improving the work environment, Immediately reporting any accident and injury to your immediate supervisor (or designate), Reporting any hazards, hazardous conditions or other concerns related to the health and safety of any person in the workplace to your immediate supervisor or designated person in charge. Be available for on-call and emergencies calls on a rotation basis with other maintenance staff, Other duties as assigned. **REQUIREMENTS** Secondary School Diploma, Six (6) months related experience, Strong communication skills (listening, verbal & written), Ability to perform general/basic maintenance and repairs, Familiar with residential electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, Strong multitasking, organizational and prioritization skills, Knowledge of occupational health and standard safety, including WHMIS, Ability to be flexible and work independently, Able to perform tasks requiring physical endurance, weight handling of up to 30lbs, Ability to lift heavier items (30lbs+) with the help of another employee or a lifting aide; and, Able to climb stairs, ladders etc., A valid G Drivers license A clear Drivers Abstract A clear Criminal Record Check for the Vulnerable Sector within the last 6 months is required.
