Job Description

The Branch Fleet Technician will be responsible for maintaining diesel equipment and hydrovac operation by performing inspections, preventive maintenance, and necessary adjustments and alignments. Corrects vehicle deficiencies and keeps accurate records with guidance and direction. Manages work orders in Fleetio to ensure comprehensive documentation and tracking. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of diesel equipment, ultimately supporting the overall operational success of the organization. HIRING SALARY RANGE: $45.00 - 55.00 per hour, depending on experience. #BDGRJobsHP QUALIFICATIONS What We''re Looking For: Performs inspection, diagnosis, and repair of assigned vehicles and equipment, and preventative maintenance such as oil changes and greasing of trucks. Conducts safety checks on trucks. Maintains a clear line of communication with the Branch Manager and Regional Fleet Staff, and other staff in the maintenance department. Keeps the Fleet operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; and performing preventive maintenance. Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical and regulatory publications. Occasionally may perform service calls for emergency breakdowns. Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established procedures. What You''ll Need For Success: High School Diploma or equivalent required. Licensed Heavy Duty Technician (Journeyman or Red Seal) A Class 3 license is preferred but not required. Must have a valid driver''s License. Some knowledge of electronic diagnostics. Experience with Peterbilt and Western Star chassis is a plus. Experience with troubleshooting Hydrovac equipment is a plus. Knowledge of Transport Canada laws, rules, regulations, and safety is helpful. Knowledge of transportation management system, a plus. Computer literate: Fleetio, Microsoft, Outlook, and Excel. Ability to interpret work orders and technical manuals on paper and PC-based formats. Proven experience in maintaining surplus inventory, stocking parts, and managing equipment supply orders Will be required to provide your own standard tools; all specialty tools will be provided. Attention to detail and possess a high level of accuracy. Excellent communication skills both internally and with customers. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and able to stay calm under pressure. Demands include frequent sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, and reaching. Employees must also crawl under vehicles, climb ladders, work in tight spaces, stand or kneel on cement floors, and regularly lift or move heavy objects such as tires, rims, and brake drums.
