This is a fast-paced, team-oriented region that places a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction. The service department is an important area of our business, ensuring that our equipment is ready and available as well as maintaining a flow of information on that equipment for both the rental staff and the sales staff, which is critical to the success of our customer relationships. **Job Description** - Participate in safe workplace safety, environmentally sound behaviors and practices at all times in support of Battlefields health and safety policy programs and initiatives; - Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy in accordance with company and manufacturer standards; - Perform inspections on equipment on job site; - Ensure parts are ordered in a timely manner; - Maneuver efficiently and effectively within the region in all traffic situations; - Responsible for truck inventory and work order practices; - Provide excellent customer relations in a fast-paced; - Adaptable to on-call work schedules and willing to work in all weather conditions; - Ensure vehicle is maintained and organized; - Perform other duties as assigned. **Key Qualifications** - Experience working with heavy equipment industry - Strong background and knowledge of construction equipment including CATEPILLAR, JLG, SKYJACK WACKE - Strong diagnostic skills on the operation of a gas and tier 4 diesel powered engines and A/C. Strong understanding of hydraulics and lifting equipment (Booms, Scissors etc.) - Ability to obtain a Canadian Nuclear Clearance certificate. (Clear criminal background check required) - Required to work in Nuclear zones to perform repairs and diagnostics on equipment while maintain proper site specific safety protocols.; - Adaptable to overtime requirements to meet the demands of the business (rotating on call shift (approx. once every 5 weeks) - Strong computer skills and previous experience with Cat systems (ET and SIS would be considered an asset); - Ability to work independently with a strong organizational skill - Understanding the requirements to operate and maintain a CVOR vehicle Perform various maintenance services on all types of equipment - Performs other duties as assigned - A Valid G-Class drivers license and clean drives abstract mandatory Complete job assignments in a safe, timely and productive manner **Additional Qualifications** - 421A Ontario College of Trades Certificate (preferred) - Mechanically strong in diagnostics and repair of various heavy equipment and brands - Ability to adapt to changing responsibilities - Strong knowledge of preventative maintenance - Ability to adapt to changing responsibilities - Promotes respect and able to work in a solo capacity and in a team environment - Enjoy working outdoors under all weather conditions - Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines - Applicant must be able to perform heavy lifting, as heavy lifting will be required frequently; - Preference will be given to a 421A Heavy Equipment technician or technician apprentice who has completed 2st or 3rd year training Ontario of Trades 421A apprenticeship course. - Your own basic technician tools are required. **What we Offer:** - 100% Canadian company - Competitive salary - Excellent benefit package - RRSP contributions - Stock options - Year round employment with overtime available - Career growth opportunities with CAT college, BER College along with hands on training, - A strong socially responsible company promoting strong values - Opportunities for growth and advancement **Wage:** $26.00-$32.00 per hour Battlefield Equipment Rentals is committed to creating an inclusive environment where people from all backgrounds can thrive.
