Job Description

The primary role of this position is develop, manage, and deliver Express Scripts Canada pharmacy benefit management services and programs. The Clinical Pharmacist provides leadership to the Prior Authorization Program and collaborates with cross-functional committees to deliver high quality and clinically sound products and formularies. The role is responsible for contributing specialized clinical knowledge to the direction of existing and new products. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:** - Provide strategic direction and clinical expertise to guide the implementation, communication, education and maintenance of clinical programs and formularies - Serve as clinical thought-leader on the Drug Plan Validation Committee, providing knowledge transfer to Express Scripts Canada customers (insurance carriers and third party administrators) on complex clinical topics - Provide leadership to the Prior Authorization program and review Prior Authorization requests, including gathering medical information, making coverage decisions, and communicating with patients, physicians or pharmacists as required - Interact with internal and external customers to provide insights on pharmacy practice, drug trends, medical advances and legislation - Ensure accurate, thorough, and timely documentation of patient status within the operations systems. Comply to ESC policies and procedures to safeguard personal information (PI) and personal health information (PHI). **QUALIFICATIONS:** - Bachelors degree in Pharmacy; license to practice pharmacy in a province of Canada - Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset. - Minimum of 2 years experience in direct patient care, drug evaluation, and/or drug information activities - Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite of tools, with database experience a plus - Knowledge of the private/public reimbursement or managed care experience would be considered an asset - Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, courteously, and tactfully - Superior analytical and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities to optimize reimbursement and improve health outcomes - Effective facilitation and presentation skills - Knowledge and experience in areas of Neurology/Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Diseases, or Oncology. - Must be self-empowered and self-managed, but also must exhibit teamwork - Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adapt in a dynamic fast-paced work environment. ______________________________________________________________________________ Le titulaire de ce poste doit principalement mettre au point, grer et prsenter les services de gestion des rgimes dassurance mdicaments et les programmes de la pharmacie dExpress Scripts Canada. La personne recherche devra utiliser ses connaissances cliniques afin doffrir les produits existants et den mettre au point de nouveaux. **Responsabilits principales** - Fournir lorientation stratgique et lexpertise clinique ncessaires la mise en uvre, la communication et la gestion des programmes cliniques et des listes de mdicaments, et sensibiliser les patients ce sujet. - Agir titre de spcialiste clinique au sein du comit dvaluation des rgimes dassurance mdicaments, transmettre ses connaissances aux clients dExpress Scripts Canada (assureurs et tiers administrateurs) sur des sujets cliniques complexes. - Grer le programme dautorisation pralable et examiner les demandes dautorisation pralable, ce qui comprend la collecte de renseignements mdicaux. Prendre les dcisions lies la couverture prvue par un rgime et communiquer avec les patients, les mdecins ou les pharmaciens, au besoin. - Interagir avec les clients internes et externes et leur fournir des renseignements utiles sur lexercice de la pharmacie, les tendances en matire de mdicaments, les progrs de la mdecine et les lois. - Sassurer que les renseignements sur ltat des patients sont exacts, complets et consigns en temps voulu dans les systmes de lentreprise. Respecter les politiques et les mthodes dExpress Scripts Canada visant protger les renseignements personnels et les renseignements personnels sur la sant. **Qualification** - tre titulaire dun baccalaurat en pharmacie et dun permis dexercice de la pharmacie dans une province au Canada. - tre bilingue (anglais et franais) constitue un atout. - Possder un minimum de deux annes dexprience en soins directs aux patients, en valuation des mdicaments et tre en mesure de communiquer des renseignements sur les mdicaments. - Possder des connaissances approfondies de la suite MS Office. Possder des connaissances en bases de donnes constitue un atout. - Connatre les dispositions relatives aux remboursements offerts par les rgimes privs ou publics ou possder de lexprience en gestion de soins de sant constitue un atout. - Prsenter dexcellentes habilets interpersonnelles et pouvoir communiquer de faon efficace, polie et avec tact. - Possder des habilets suprieures en analyse et en rsolution de problmes afin de dceler des occasions pour optimiser le remboursement des mdicaments et damliorer les rsultats sur le plan de la sant des patients. - Possder de bonnes aptitudes en prsentation et en animation. - Possder des connaissances et de lexprience en neurologie ou en sclrose en plaques, en rhumatologie, en dermatologie, en pneumologie, en gastro-entrologie, en maladies infectieuses ou en oncologie. - tre autonome, savoir bien grer son temps et tre en mesure de travailler en quipe. - tre en mesure deffectuer plusieurs tches dans un environnement dynamique et de sy adapter. **Express Scripts Canada is a Cigna company** Express Scripts Canada is a subsidiary of Express Scripts, a Cigna company.
