Job Title: Director, Counselling and Psychotherapy Centre Administrative Unit: Counselling Center Immediate Supervisor: Dean, Faculties of Human Sciences and Philosophy Job Type: Permanent, Full Time (Non-Unionized) Saint Paul University (1848) is the founding college of the University of Ottawa, with which it has maintained a federated relationship since 1965. Under the supervision of the Dean of the Faculties of Human Sciences and Philosophy, the Director is responsible for developing a strategic vision and ensuring its implementation. The Director''s main objective is to fulfill the mandate of the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy: # Train master''s, graduate diploma, and doctoral students in counselling and spirituality by providing a supervised framework for applying their clinical knowledge and skills with clients. # Serve the community by offering accessible, bilingual (French and English) psychotherapy services for individuals, couples, or families. # Advance knowledge through research in counselling, psychotherapy, and spirituality. In close collaboration with the School of Counselling, Psychotherapy, and Spirituality, the Director ensures coherent integration between the theoretical training acquired in the classroom and the application of clinical knowledge and skills at the Counselling Centre. professional requirements of regulatory bodies, This person represents the counselling and spirituality programs to professional orders and associations. Define the vision, orientations, and action plans for the Centre, in alignment with academic, clinical, and institutional objectives. Monitor performance indicators (attendance statistics, financial profitability statistics, satisfaction of clients, students, and partners) and develop strategies to optimize outcomes. Drive innovation and the continuous improvement of processes and services offered to both clients and students. Represent the Centre to the media and the public, in coordination with the Communications Service and in consultation with the strategic supervisor/partner (i.e., the Dean and the School). B) Management of Human, Material, and Financial Resources Oversee the overall operations of the Centre, directly supervising administrative staff and ensuring effective coordination of human, material, financial, and communication resources. Support, guide, and evaluate the work of Centre staff by ensuring work planning, performance evaluation, ongoing professional development, and staff engagement toward the Centre''s objectives. Supervise the hiring and onboarding process for clinical supervisors, assess the quality of their work, and ensure compliance with their clinical and contractual obligations. Plan and recommend the annual operations budget (revenues and expenses), taking into account projections and recurring and extraordinary needs of the Centre. C) Clinical, Professional, and Legal Responsibilities Be available at all times to support staff or students in managing emergency situations. Be available by email or for meetings for clinical or administrative consultations. applicable laws (PHIPA, PIPEDA) in collaboration with the University Secretary (Custodian of Personal Health Information); the standards and professional obligations of regulatory bodies (CRPO), Promote a safe, healthy, and inclusive internship environment for all trainees at the Counselling Centre. Collaborate with the School of Counselling, Psychotherapy, and Spirituality and its various stakeholders (directors of clinical training, clinical professors, etc.) to ensure coherence between theoretical learning acquired in the classroom and the application of clinical knowledge and skills at the Counselling Centre. Coordinate clinical supervision groups for each academic term, ensuring that each student is exposed to various styles of clinical supervision. Develop strategies for orienting, training, and guiding students in the Centre''s operations. Collaborate with directors of clinical training to resolve issues related to student training or the quality of their internship experience. Ensure that the clinical experience and clinical supervision meet CRPO definitions and record the hours at the end of the program of study. Closely track trainees'' client contact hours and clinical supervision hours, ensuring progress toward meeting program requirements (150 hours). Any risk of not meeting objectives requires early intervention and close collaboration with the trainees concerned. Ensure that the service coordinates the trainee evaluation process and the collection and retention of evaluation forms. Graduate degree in counselling or a related discipline authorizing the practice of psychotherapy. Five (5) years of experience in the mental health field, ideally including at least two (2) years in a management role within an organization employing staff or contractors (associates). Excellent written and oral language skills in both official languages. Experience in administrative and budgetary management. Knowledge of the university environment (an asset). Ability to work efficiently and to plan and execute multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Le directeur a comme principal objectif d''assurer la ralisation du mandat du Centre de Counselling et de Psychothrapie : # Former les tudiants la matrise, au DES et au Doctorat en counselling et spiritualit en leur offrant un cadre supervis pour appliquer leurs connaissances et comptences cliniques auprs de clients # Servir la communaut par l''offre de services de psychothrapie individuelle, de couple ou familiale, accessibles et bilingues (franais, anglais). # Faire avancer les connaissances par la recherche en counselling, psychothrapie et spiritualit. En collaboration troite avec l''cole de counselling, de psychothrapie et de spiritualit, la direction assure une intgration cohrente entre la formation thorique acquise en salle de classe et l''application des connaissances et comptences cliniques au Centre de counselling. Cette personne reprsente les programmes de counselling et de spiritualit auprs des ordres et associations professionnelles. Suivre les indicateurs de performance (statistiques de frquentation, statistiques de rentabilit financire, satisfaction des clients, tudiants et partenaires) et dvelopper les stratgies ncessaires pour optimiser le rendement. Piloter l''innovation et l''amlioration continue des processus et services offerts tant aux clients qu''aux tudiants. Reprsenter le Centre auprs des mdias et du public, en coordination avec les services de communication et en consultation avec la supervision/partenaire stratgique, i.e. le doyen et l''cole. B) Gestion des ressources humaines, matrielles et financires Assurer la gestion de l''ensemble des oprations du Centre, en supervisant directement le personnel administratif et en assurant une coordination efficace des ressources humaines, matrielles, financires et communicationnelles. Superviser le processus d''embauche et d''intgration des superviseurs cliniques, valuer la qualit de leur travail et veiller au respect de leurs obligations cliniques et contractuelles. C) Responsabilits cliniques, professionnelles et juridiques tre disponible en tout temps pour soutenir le personnel ou les tudiants dans la gestion des situations d''urgence. tre disponible par courriel ou pour des runions pour des consultations cliniques ou administratives. Promouvoir un espace de stage scuritaire, sain et inclusif pour tous les stagiaires au Centre de Counselling. Collaborer avec l''cole de counselling, de psychothrapie et de spiritualit et ses divers acteurs (directeurs de formation cliniques, professeurs cliniciens, etc.) pour assurer une cohrence entre l''apprentissage thorique acquis en salle de classe et l''application des connaissances et comptences cliniques au Centre de counselling. Assurer la coordination des groupes de supervision clinique pour chaque session acadmique, en veillant ce que chaque tudiant soit expos divers styles de supervision clinique. Dvelopper des stratgies pour l''orientation, la formation et l''encadrement des tudiants au fonctionnement du Centre. Dvelopper et mettre jour des outils, gabarits, guides et calendriers pour accompagner efficacement les tudiants en stage. Collaborer avec les directeurs de la formation clinique pour rsoudre les problmes lis la formation des tudiants ou la qualit de leur exprience de stage. S''assurer que l''exprience clinique et la supervision clinique rpondent aux dfinitions de l''OPAO et dclarer les heures la fin du programme d''tude. Assurer un suivi rigoureux des heures de contact client et de supervision clinique des stagiaires, en veillant au cheminement vers l''atteinte des exigences du programme (150h). Le risque de non-atteinte des objectifs ncessite une intervention prcoce et de collaborer troitement avec les stagiaires concerns. Assurer que son service coordonne le processus d''valuation des stagiaires et la collecte et la rtention des formulaires d''valuation. COMPTENCES ET QUALITS ESSENTIELLES Diplme universitaire de deuxime cycle en counselling ou dans une discipline connexe autorisant exercer la psychothrapie. Cinq (5) annes d''exprience dans le domaine de la sant mentale, incluant, idalement, au moins deux (2) ans en poste de gestion d''une entreprise comptant des employs ou des contractuels (associs). Excellentes comptences linguistiques crites et orales dans les deux langues officielles Exprience en gestion administrative et budgtaire. Capacit travailler efficacement et de planifier et d''excuter plusieurs projets simultanment rythme soutenu Disponibilit (occasionnellement) en soire et les fins de semaine pour rpondre des urgences.
