Job Description

Our client is looking for a Control Room Operator in Lloydminster.The operation is a 24 hour/365-day operation that requires the operator to work 12 hour rotational shift schedule on both days and nights once fully trained. RequirementsThe ability to remotely control and operate pipeline facilities including terminals and Lease Automatic Custody Transfer (LACT) stations utilizing SCADA and Leak Detection systems.Follow the Superintendents Expectations for Control Room Operations.Working collaboratively with the midstream team, Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, and SCADA Technicians.Strong Communication skills, Clear speech, good hearing, and a professional telephone mannerCalm and reassuring under pressure.Deal with confidential and sensitive information.Polite, friendly, efficient, and helpful attitude.Able to Prioritize situations and tasks.Solve problems and make informed decisions.Maintain and organize written documents and records.Keyboard and IT skills.Work on your own and as part of a team.Pay attention to detailFollow set procedures and deal with emergency/abnormal conditions.Work shift, including nights, weekends, and public holidays. CompetenciesAccess and review daily production data and respond accordingly to complete volume metric balancingComply with all safe work practices and procedures, regulatory and environmental requirements following the Control Room Management Plan and the client's Management systemsThe role involves the safe operation of pipelines ensuring the public, Health, Safety, and environmentDecision making is based on the control room operators using processes and procedures, experiences, and with support from upper management.Problem solving is based on the control room operators using Abnormal and emergency procedures, experiences, SCADA technician support, and with support from upper managementDemonstrated ability to multi-task and independently prioritize tasks.Ability to demonstrate Pass/Fail on the simulator using real issues and following process to safely respond to those issues in a timely manner. QualificationsAbility to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrated self-motivation and inclination to accept increased operational responsibilitiesExcellent computer skills including experience and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and SAPCandidate must possess at least one of the following certifications:Gas Process Operator (GPO) certificateProduction Field Operator (PFO) certificateMinimum 4th Class Power Engineering certificateJourneyman tradespersonOther Qualification RequirementsGrade 12 Diploma or equivalentValid Class 5 Drivers LicenseCompletion of Engineering technology diploma would be an asset
