Details of the position Job title: Office Agent, Principal Class School / Centre / Department : Board Office - Payroll Services Location : Magog, Quebec Workload & schedule: 35 hours per week Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm Status: Replacement Effective Date: As soon as possible. Undetermined end date Salary : $25.86- $31.65per hour Supervisor : Director of Human Resources Nature of the work The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in organizing, coordinating and monitoring the work performed by his or her team composed of administrative support staff. This class of employment also includes employees who perform principally and customarily highly specialized work characterized by the complexity, expertise and autonomyrequired. Description of tasks General tasks related to this class of employment Coordinates, distributes, and verifiesthe work and gives advice on the quality Ensures that deadlines are met Ensures staff training Determines the work schedule in his or her sector according to the instructions received, reminds persons concerned, in or outside the school board, of deadlines Carriesout complex and specialized duties Find, prepares, and verifies data Prepares documents, statements, and reports, including the entry of data that he or she must interpret, if necessary, and that he or she locates in or outside the school board Deals with the public or with employees concerning, in particular, the methods of payment or collection or any other matter within his or her competence Makes suggestions and recommendations designed to improve the operations for which he or she is responsible Uses necessary software to perform his or her duties related to: word processing, database entry, spreadsheets, and in-house programs May be required to help colleagues with the common software or programs used Tasks specific to this role Assist the administrative technician in assuming responsibility for the control, maintenance and accuracy of the bi-weekly payroll, primarily entering timesheet information Responds to employee inquiries Performs various tasks in relation to absences, sick leave banks, holidays and social leaves If need be, performs any other related duty Desired profile Schooling Meet one of the following profiles: Hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies in an appropriate specialty Hold a Secondary School Diploma or a diploma or attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority. Experience Have six (6) years of pertinent experience Other requirements Bilingual Knowledge of the MS Office suite Basic knowledge of accounting principals and basic payroll functions Knowledge of GRICS programs (Paie et GRH) and Scolago would be considered an asset The hiring process includes administrative tests.
