This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company and for someone to take a step up in their career in taking on more responsibilities as a Junior Project Manager.ProjectsMunicipal Infrastructure, underground utilities, transportation, buildings development, and power linesPrimary FocusThe Jr Project Manager supports the Project Manager/Senior Estimator in a broad range of project administration, coordination, and pre-construction planning tasks. This role is instrumental in ensuring projects are well-organized, cost-effective, and executed safely and efficiently from concept to closeout. The Jr Project Manager works collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to define project scope, prepare estimates, coordinate documentation, and ensure compliance with all quality, safety, and regulatory standards.Project AdministrationManage project budgets and tracks expenditurePrepare documentation for the pre-construction phase, including cost analyses, risk assessments, execution plans and schedulesCommunicate project plans, actions, and issues to key stakeholdersDraft and issue accurate contracts and purchase ordersEnsure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and safety standardsPromote a culture of continuous improvement across project workflowsProject CoordinationAssist in project planning, scheduling, and tracking overall progressCoordinate with subcontractors to align with project timelinesCollaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to define projectscope and objectivesCoordinate with design teams to ensure constructability and resolve potential issues earlyPrepare and process RFIs and Change OrdersAssist in the development and refinement of project strategies, including value engineering and innovative approachesSupport procurement: assist in the selection of subcontractors and suppliers, contract negotiations, and materials procurementMaintain high standards of quality and safety throughout the project lifecycleCompile project as-builts, deficiency lists, and close-out documentationEstimating and Technical SupportSupport the preparation of accurate cost estimates and competitive bidsAssist with quantity takeoffs and clarification of project scope and detailsRequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesBachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred)Certificate or diploma in Project Management or Construction ManagementMinimum of 2+ years' experience in pre-construction or estimating within the civil construction industryStrong understanding of civil engineering principles, construction methods, and materialsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Proficiency in estimating software and project management toolsFamiliarity with Buildertrend or equivalent project management software (an asset)Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skillsExcellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to lead and motivate teams, manage multiple priorities, and work under tight deadlinesSolid knowledge of construction operations and equipmentStrong attention to detail and demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work independently and handle confidential materials with discretion
