We are recruiting aG eneral Superintendent to join our team at the BHP Jansen Potash Mine in Jansen, SK. This position is based on a 14/7 rotation and is camp-based at the Jansen Discovery Lodge.TheGeneral Superintendent is accountable for leading a team of multi discipline general foreperson and trades people. The general scope lies within the Tailings Management Area and consists of civil earthworks, concrete, mechanical, structural steel and electrical. A strong background in general construction and leadership is essential to the overall success of the team. The General Superintendent shall be responsible of implementing construction projects from start to finish according to schedule, specifications and budget, while maintaining strict adherence to OH&S and Corporate Health and Safety Regulations and policies, as well as Quality Control Guidelines and procedures.ResponsibilitiesManage and supervise all phases of construction projects, ensuring that tasks are completed according to project schedules, specifications, and budget requirementsCoordinate the work of project managers, foremen, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure smooth execution of project activitiesConduct regular site safety inspections, organize safety meetings, and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks and ensure a safe working environment for all personnelAllocate resources effectively to meet project milestones, adjusting plans as necessary to accommodate changes in the project timeline or scopeOversee and manage the performance of subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring they meet project requirements, timelines, and quality standardsProvide regular updates on project progress, budget status, and any issues that may arise, ensuring that all parties are informed and aligned with project goalsAt times, work with legal, environmental, and regulatory teams to address any compliance issues and resolve potential conflicts or violationsRequirementsPost-secondary degree or diploma in a related field; Enginering, Civil ServicesMinimum 10 years industry experienceExperience with budgeting, cost control, and contract management for construction projectsProven ability to lead and manage a diverse team of construction professionals, including project managers, superintendents, foremen, and subcontractors.Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to manage complex and challenging situations on job sitesAbility to enforce safety regulations, conduct safety audits, and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe work environmentProficient in tracking project progress, managing budgets, and ensuring adherence to scope, quality, and safety standards.Strong communication skills both written and verbal to effectively communicate with stakeholdersMust pass a Criminal Record CheckMust pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test including cannabisKey HighlightsWe offer competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package including matching RRSP program.Company OverviewSITE Resource Group Limited Partnership (SRG) excels in providing comprehensive solutions from initial conception to project completion, adeptly handling the construction, maintenance, and reclamation of assets across a broad spectrum of industries.
