Job PostingExecutive Director - EXE002282Organization: Government of SaskatchewanLocation: Regina and SaskatoonAbout UsThe Saskatchewan Pension Plan (the Plan) was created under The Saskatchewan Pension Plan Act in 1986 and is a fully-funded, capital accumulation plan established by the provincial government to provide supplementary income to individuals with limited or no access to employer-sponsored pensions. The Plan manages over $850 million in assets and serves more than 32,000 members. It is ranked 21st among the top 50 defined contribution pension plans in Canada.The OpportunityThe Plan is seeking a highly organized, energetic, and self-motivated individual skilled in organizational change to serve as the permanent Executive Director based in Saskatchewan. The Executive Director will lead the senior management team and report to both the Board of Trustees and the Minister of Finance.As an Executive Director, Saskatchewan Pension Plan, you will:Develop and oversee strategic plans to meet Board targets, including ambitious plans for asset and member growth beyond Saskatchewan to ensure long-term sustainability.Lead long-term, integrated business system transformations across multiple platforms, overseeing financial, communication, IT, and human resources functions.Set plans for future growth, including staff development and expansion across multiple locations.Enhance staff expertise in pensions through targeted training and professional certifications (e.g., CFP, QAFP, PFP).Advise the Board on legislative, regulatory, and policy changes to support strategic growth.Develop and implement business development and communication strategies to position the Plan competitively within the financial sector and increase its recognition as a leading pension plan in Canada.Oversee investment managers, service providers, and consultants to ensure diligent management of the Plans investments.Serve as a resource for pension professionals nationwide, contributing to regulatory reforms and raising the Plans profile.Provide advisory support to the Deputy Minister of Finance and Minister of Finance to ensure the Plans sustainability and viability amidst changing markets.Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Knowledge of business development, marketing, and communication strategies in the financial sector is essential, along with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders.Strong management skills, including leading organizational change, fostering cross-location collaboration, and developing remote workforces. Knowledge of pensions, investments, finance, taxation, and relevant legislation is required. Typically, these skills are obtained through a degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Economics, complemented by professional designations such as CFA, CFP, CPA, or CEBS, and experience in the pension industry.
