This role also involves monitoring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The facility operates nearly 24 hours a day, 363 days a year.Ensure smooth operation of the facility in accordance with the operating contract.Ensure the efficient handling of recyclables and waste to maximize production safely.Achieve daily, weekly, and monthly preventative maintenance goals to ensure safe and efficient operations.Establish and meet budgetary objectives through resourceful management of labor, equipment, and supplies.Oversee up to 25 direct and indirect reports.Review and evaluate work to ensure quality, timeliness, and adherence to policies and procedures.Implement, maintain, and monitor processes, procedures, and programs to improve safety, productivity, and profitability of the transfer station.Understand and analyze site operating costs (manpower hours, fuel, maintenance, etc.) and present actionable insights to management for cost optimization.Support Supervisors to optimize the efficiencies of their crews.Respond to customer service complaints and work with employees to reduce complaints.Maintain high customer service standards and resolve issues or conflicts.Manage union relations and liaise with front-line employees regarding safety and operational concerns.Attend regular meetings with Metro Vancouver and report on operations.Lead and participate in safety meetings to promote morale, productivity, and efficiency.Create and submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports to senior management.What will you bring?Relevant post-secondary education and related work experience.Previous management experience required.Understanding of operational KPIs.Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).A positive work environment mindset.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Experience in the waste management and recycling industry is an asset.Experience in operational financial management is preferred.Reasons to Apply, Stay, and Grow with Emterra GroupBe part of one of Canadas Greenest Employers!Enjoy competitive wages and annual increases!Benefit from comprehensive health benefits (drug, dental, vision, LTD, life insurance).Utilize our Employee Assistance Program, paid for by the company.Take advantage of tuition reimbursement and professional development support.Join an entrepreneurial organization that values learning and growth.Make an impact and drive change.If you're ready to jumpstart your career with one of Canadas Greenest Employers and contribute to environmental solutions, apply now!
