Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA)-Saskatoon and University of Saskatchewan (U of S), Department of Psychiatry, seek a team-oriented Psychiatrist to be part of our dynamic and expanding Department. The successful candidate will provide services to effectively address the mental health needs of geriatric patients. The position is funded through an Academic Clinical Funding Plan and provides the Psychiatrist with protected time for clinical, administrative and academic duties. Potential areas of clinical work include outpatient clinics, outreach to long term care, and geriatric consultation-liaison to medical and surgical units.The successful candidate will provide clinical and academic services as a member of the Department of Psychiatry and will hold appointments with both the University of Saskatchewan and the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Appointment with the university will be at the assistant, associate or full professor level.The Saskatoon Area with the Saskatchewan Health Authority has a Psychiatry Residency training program, which is dedicated to learning and is a partner in the growing educational needs of medical students and residents with the College of Medicine, University of Saskatchewan.Call coverage provides for a balanced lifestyle as it is shared with all other Psychiatrists in the Department and is approximately once a month.Compensation Details:Academic Clinical Funding PlanLocation of practice:SaskatoonLanguage of work: EnglishThis is an independent contractor position therefore benefits are the responsibility of the successful candidate.Additional InformationThe City-Saskatoon Shines - With more hours of sunshine than any other major Canadian city and a population of 340,000+, Saskatoon is the largest city in Saskatchewan, offering non-stop entertainment opportunities including world class events, festivals and attractions, a strong arts and music focus, and a short drive to the northern lake country.
