This role ensures the centre runs safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulations. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership, operational planning, and safety enforcement experience within a waste, recycling, or industrial environment.Key Responsibilities:Scheduling & Staffing: Manage employee schedules to ensure adequate staffing levels; support recruitment, onboarding, and performance management of team members.Outgoing Waste Stream Management: Oversee and coordinate all outgoing waste and recycling streams to ensure efficient, timely, and compliant material movement.Preventative Maintenance (PM) Scheduling: Coordinate scheduled maintenance for facility equipment; work closely with maintenance teams and vendors to ensure minimal downtime.Site Safety & Compliance Enforcement: Promote a culture of safety; conduct regular site inspections and ensure all safety protocols and regulatory requirements are being followed.Facility Maintenance: Ensure the overall cleanliness, upkeep, and functionality of the site, including buildings, yard, and equipment.Reporting & Communication: Prepare operational reports and communicate regularly with upper management regarding site performance, issues, and opportunities.Qualifications:3+ years of experience in waste management, industrial operations, or related field, with supervisory or management experienceSolid understanding of equipment maintenance schedules and waste stream logisticsStrong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skillsKnowledge of occupational health & safety regulationsAbility to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environmentProficient in basic computer systems and reporting toolsValid drivers license; equipment operation experience is an assetOther advantages to working at GFL:A network of 20,000+ employees across North AmericaDiverse career pathways and internal growth opportunitiesIncreased sustainability of your community, through the Full Circle ProjectActivity in a publicly traded company (on NYSE & TSX)#GFLTalentWe thank you for your interest.
