The successful applicant may be required to perform the following:Ability to lift up to 60 pounds without a lift and up to 120 pounds with 2 man lift or mechanical liftTransport students (personal vehicle may be required to transport)Attend to personal hygiene and medical needs as requiredPrepare and plan student-based life skills and academic programming under direction of teacherFocus on successfully transitioning the student to be able to work with other students and adultsFocus on behaviour and safety plan created specifically for students as requiredSupervision of intensive needs student(s) as well as small groups of students as requiredQualifications:Minimum Grade 12 diploma from an institution recognized by the Board of EducationDemonstrated ability to adapt to change and be flexibleDemonstrated ability to work collaboratively as an effective team memberValid driver's licenseDemonstrated knowledge of school computer software such as word processing and computer assisted learning softwareAn educational assistant or equivalent diploma, NVCI, First Aid, Autism and Behavioral educational background will be considered assetsCommitment to the ideals of public education as well as the mission, vision and guiding principles of the South East Cornerstone Public School DivisionSalary & BenefitsSalary and benefits are in accordance with the currently negotiated CUPE Collective Agreement as listed on our website .
