This is a permanent, 100% remote position within an international group operating in the professional services sector.As Chief Accountant for US operations, you will be responsible for all financial and accounting activities of the US entities, ensuring compliance with the group's internal standards and supporting strategic financial initiatives. You will oversee reporting, controls, and processes, manage a small accounting team, and work closely with the Group CFO and other finance teams.Key ResponsibilitiesSupervise all accounting operations, including general ledger, month-end close, and intercompany transactionsPrepare financial statements and internal reportsEnsure compliance with US GAAP and internal policiesManage cash flow forecasting and daily treasury operationsOversee billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processesCoordinate payroll in collaboration with HR and external providersSupport audit processes and act as the primary contact for external auditorsOptimize accounting systems and processes, including the use of SAGE and other toolsSupervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvementAdminister and oversee the 401(k) plan, including reporting and auditsManage real estate entities, including required county and state filingsOversee the insurance portfolio (workers' compensation, general liability, and property), ensuring adequate coverage for current and future activitiesYour profile:Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar positionCPA auditorExposure to IFRS standards and understanding of US GAAPPrevious experience as an Accounting Manager or in an equivalent management role in accountingExcellent analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple entities and work under pressureProficiency in accounting systems (SAGE is a plus) and advanced Excel skillsTeam spirit, initiative, rigor, and strong sense of responsibility
