Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a strong Store Designer to join a prominent retail company based in Vancouver, BC. This role is hybrid 4 days a week onsite with 40 hour work weeks. The Retail Space Designer leads the end-to-end design process for new store projects, transforming spaces in alignment with the Lululemon design playbook. This role involves: Design Development: Creating floor plans, fixture layouts, and faade concepts tailored to new retail spaces. Stakeholder Engagement: Presenting design proposals to senior managers and studio review teams, iterating based on feedback, and securing final approval from senior leadership. Documentation & Handoff: Preparing approved design packages for architects to initiate construction documentation and permitting. Project Coordination: Tracking key milestones across feasibility studies, schematic design, and construction phases, while supporting the construction team with design-related queries. Consultant Management: Directing external architectural, structural, and MEP consultants to ensure brand consistency and spatial quality. Quality Assurance: Reviewing FF&E shop drawings and ensuring buildability, timely documentation, and adherence to Lululemons global design standards. Must Haves: 5 to 7+ years of retail design experience (Focus on shopping malls, landlords, building departments, and city-related projects. Commercial design experience is acceptable but need to hit all must-haves.) Educational or professional background in architecture or interior design, with a strong emphasis on spatial planning and design. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in AutoCAD (2 years +) Skilled in SketchUp (2 years +) Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign (2 years +) Strong rendering skills to visualize and communicate design concepts effectively (2 years +) Work Style & Collaboration: Ability to manage 8 to 12 projects simultaneously, balancing multiple workstreams with efficiency. Highly collaborative: enjoys working with partners, actively listens, and communicates effectively. Open-minded and receptive to feedback and new ideas Plusses: Advanced rendering capabilities beyond basic visualization tools. Extensive experience in retail design, with a strong portfolio demonstrating depth and variety. Background as a designer in any retail environment, including branded spaces, pop-ups, or experiential retail. Proven track record of working on retail concept development, such as bringing visionary ideas (e.g., Nike Studio Concept) from initial ideation through to final execution.
