Job Title: Laboratory Technologist (Contract to December 31, 2026) Location: Kitimat Reporting to: Senior Head of Laboratory Our client is seeking a Laboratory Technologist to join their team in Kitimat. Reporting to the Senior Head of Laboratory, you will support the development, validation, and implementation of test methods, ensure lab safety protocols are followed, and maintain equipment reliability. This role contributes directly to operational support and the certification of finished products. Perform routine and ad-hoc testing on process samples and finished products Validate and implement laboratory test methods and SOPs Maintain and calibrate lab equipment; Support ISO 17025 certification and quality/safety manual development Manage lab consumables, chemicals, and reagents inventory Drive continuous improvement and support a safe, collaborative culture Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or related field ~Strong knowledge of lab equipment (GC, IC, ICP, titrators, spectrophotometers, pH/conductivity meters, etc.) ~ Familiarity with ASTM standards, ISO 17025, and water/wastewater testing methods ~ Ability to work independently, adapt to change, and drive continuous improvement Work Rotation/Schedule: 5 days a week, 40 hours per week [Schedule changed to 10 hour days for plant startup for Laboratory Readiness. Schedule will switch to a 12 hour days during the plant commissioning and startup stage]. Candidates must be local, or willing to re-locate at their own cost.
