The organizations offices in Saskatoon and Prince Albert serve as hubs for mentorship, outreach, cultural programming, reintegration, and justice advocacy. The Opportunity STR8 UP is seeking a courageous, grounded, and community-committed Executive Director to steward the organization through its next chapter. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will act as an operational stabilizer, strategic thinker, and trusted relationship-builder. Key Responsibilities As the Executive Director, you will work collaboratively and are responsible for: 1. Organizational Leadership & Culture Lead with STR8 UPs values of honesty, humility, and accountability. Create and sustain a healthy, trauma-literate workplace culture rooted in respect, collaboration, and belonging. Ensure role clarity, clear expectations, and support systems for staff and supervisors. Work in collaboration with key leaders to complete organizational development work in progress, build relationships, and enhance programming. 2. Operational Management Direct all aspects of the organizations operations, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational plans. Oversee administration, HR, data systems, facilities, and program delivery. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and funder agreements. Lead the development and management of annual budgets and financial reporting. Ensure STR8 UP maintains a strong financially robust position with sound fiscal practices. Oversee all accounting, audit, and bookkeeping functions. Support recruitment, onboarding, performance development, and consistent policy implementation. Foster an environment of accountability that is relational and restorative. Take a transformational approach to HR practices that resonates and aligns with Member healing journeys. 5. Programs & Impact Provide leadership and oversight for STR8 UPs programs, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with funder expectations. Support staff in delivering meaningful, healing-centered work rooted in the STR8 UP approach. Strengthen data and evaluation practices to demonstrate and inform programming. 6. Community Engagement & Fund Development Serve as a visible and trusted representative of STR8 UP with funders, government, and community partners. Lead fundraising and grant development efforts in collaboration with the Board and staff. Enhance public awareness through media, storytelling, and presentations that honour the work, the people behind it, and those STR8 UP serves. Qualifications A values-driven leader with a heart for community and a deep belief in peoples capacity for healing. You are called to serve, not save. A systems thinker with experience holding complex organizational pieces people, programs, finance, compliance together in service of a bigger mission. A relationship builder who leads consistently with integrity, empathy, and humility. A confident communicator who can advocate for STR8 UPs work while consistently centering the voices of those with lived experience. A minimum of 5 years senior leadership experience in non-profit, social services, and community organizations. Experience with people leadership, HR, financial oversight, grant writing, and strategic planning. A deep understanding of trauma, systemic barriers, and the impacts of colonization particularly on Indigenous peoples. Comfort working with and learning from individuals with lived experience of incarceration, addiction, and gang involvement. Strong cultural humility and an active commitment to Truth & Reconciliation and the Calls to Action. Lived experience is considered an asset, as is experience working directly in community justice, outreach, and healing-based programs.
