VETTA CHAMBER MUSIC GENERAL MANAGERVetta Chamber Music seeks a General Manager who will support and enhance the artistic and organizational excellence of one of Vancouvers legacy chamber music organizations.This three-quarter time contract position offers many opportunities for experience, growth, and autonomy when you bring your own set of skills and talents which will include production, financial, and administration tools.Reporting to the Board of Directors and working closely with the Artistic Director, the General Manager will be responsible for the overall management and supervision of Vetta Chamber Musics operations and presentations. The position has four primary areas of focus: Planning & Production; Financial; Fundraising; and Administration & Operations.Vetta Chamber Music is recognized as a mature organization that supports Vancouvers chamber music scene through the highest quality programming, performances, and mentorship.Embarking on its 40th Anniversary with the 2025/2026 season, Vetta will celebrate how it has engaged, connected, and shared music together for four decades. From its original string quartet roots in the 1980s, Vetta has grown into a season of more than twenty concerts bridging generations through a mentorship programme, cross-cultural projects, and its beloved chamber music series. Five sets of concerts are performed each season, with every programme being presented in West Point Grey United Church, West Vancouver United Church, Pyatt Hall, and ArtSpring on Salt Spring Island.At its core, Vetta Chamber Music remains committed to offering intimate, high-quality musical experiences, performed by the finest musicians from Vancouver and beyond, to bring personal connections to its devoted and cherished audiences.Mission: To engage, connect, and share through the presentation of high calibre, engaging and educational chamber music programs.Vision: To create communities that are moved, nourished, and inspired by chamber music through showcasing BCs finest chamber musicians, finding new ways to create collaboration and cross-pollination between arts groups and cultures, and to develop mentorship of emerging musicians in the community.Values: Vetta values engaging with British Columbia's diverse communities, collaborating with other organizations and cultures, providing opportunities for growth through mentorship and new presentation in communities across the Lower Mainland, and beyond.Website: Manager duties and responsibilities:PLANNING & PRODUCTION:The General Manager (GM) will work closely with the Artistic Director (AD) to:Plan each seasons dates and book rehearsal and performance venuesPrepare, manage and implement all performing artists contractsBook travel and accommodation for all visiting artistsCollaborate with volunteer coordinators to ensure sufficient volunteer support for each performanceCoordinate venue and stage management at all performance venuesOversee all productions to meet artist, audience, and organization needsCollect all printed program materials and work with program designer/typesetter and printer to ensure timely design and printing for each set of concertsBook all travel to/from all performances on Salt Spring Island (5 times per season)Plan and oversee all marketing materials with marketing contractor (incudes: season brochure planning/design/printing; posters; email marketing campaigns before and after each set of programs; social media campaigns)Set up ticketing before each season with Vancouver ticketing service and ArtSpringCoordinate with media partners for annual marketing campaigns; manage some online advertising campaignsFINANCIAL:Work closely with the Treasurer and AD, to create, manage and monitor an annual project and operating budget of about $250KManage all bankingManage all payables, including artist fees and vendorsFUNDRAISING:Plan and implement annual fundraising campaignsTake the lead on all private and public grant applications and final reports, while working closely with the ADResearch new sources for fundraising, both private and publicMaintain communication and cultivate relationship with major donorsADMINISTRATION & OPERATIONS:Manage and coordinate with contract staff (marketing support and research, design/typesetters, program annotator)Manage filing systems for electronic and physical filesDatabase management (Zoho Creator Database)First point contact with audience and general publicQUALIFICATIONS:Creative, collaborative, innovative and self-motivated arts administratorFlexible and adaptable, with a proven ability to manage details, systems and financesComfortable with technology, specifically using Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook)Experience in managing a small performing arts organization, with the capability to anticipate needs for on-going growthMinimum five years experience working in a similar positionEligible to work in CanadaCOMPENSATION:This is a three-quarter time positionHours are flexible, generally working during the day, Monday to FridayDuring busy concert weeks, Vetta will require your flexibility to be present at rehearsals and concerts on site, managing these events during evenings and weekendsSalary range $40,000 - $45,000HOW TO APPLY:Please email your resum, cover letter, and two references to: General Manager in the subject line.
