OverviewKelowna, British Columbia, CanadaKelowna is the Okanagans largest and liveliest population centre, offering four seasons of outdoor and cultural activities. This role is based at Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) in the Department of Medicine, Division of Neurology.Role and Facility InformationThe Kelowna General Hospital Neurology division recruits to support acute care coverage with hospital-based neurology services and outpatient practice. Our team collaborates with Interior Health and the University of British Columbia Okanagan Southern Medical Program. Opportunities exist in medical education, research, quality improvement, and leadership.We have active clinical programs in stroke, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, neuromuscular disease, movement disorders, neuro-ophthalmology, and headache. Diagnostic services include CT, MRI, angiography, EEG, and EMG. The on-call service is part of the neurology acute care program, with expected on-call frequency of 1:5 or less. The site is a teaching affiliate of the UBC Faculty of Medicine Southern Medical Program.Leadership development opportunities are available through Interior Healths NAVIG8 Program.Practice DescriptionThis position combines hospital-based acute care coverage with outpatient neurology practice. The successful candidate may have general neurology interests and/or subspecialty interests. Responsibilities include participating in clinical teaching of medical students, residents, and other trainees; and potential for Clinical Faculty Appointment in the UBC Department of Medicine.Our facilities include the Interior Heart & Surgical Centre (IHSC) with dedicated operating rooms for thoracic, urology, neurosurgery, vascular, plastic, obstetric/gynecologic, ENT, orthopedic, general, and trauma surgeries; a maternity ward and neonatal ICU; a modern Centennial Building with expanded emergency and ambulatory care, inpatient units, operating rooms, and a rooftop helipad; and a Dr. Walter Anderson Building housing enhanced labs and clinical departments.KGH is a teaching centre for the Southern Medical Program and serves as a satellite for the UBC Faculty of Medicine.CompensationCompensation Type: Fee-for-ServiceEstimated Remuneration: $250,000 - $350,000 + MOCAP Level 1Benefits and RelocationRelocation Funding Available: up to $9,000 within BC, $12,000 within Canada, and $15,000 from outside Canada, with eligible receipts.
