Working together, well create a future thats more connected, more intelligent, more sustainable for everyone.Role SummaryIn this role, you will be a member of the Platform Software team, responsible for architecting, implementing, and integrating platform software across Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologiess controls boards. The platform includes drivers, operating systems, middleware, and application frameworks necessary for all aspects of vehicle controls. Through close collaboration with Hardware and Application Software teams, you will build the foundation of Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologiess vehicle software.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and integrate the foundational platform software for Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies controls boards, from initial bring-up to shipping to customers, including drivers, operating systems, and middlewareDesign, develop and deploy embedded software for applications including power management, vehicle reset, occupancy detection, diagnostics and over-the-air update (OTA)Collaborate with the hardware team on overall design, schematics, and hardware validationWork closely with other development and cross-functional team members such as Charging, Body Controls, Infotainment, and Vehicle Dynamics to ensure the platform is meeting application requirementsQualifications7+ years of experience in embedded software/firmware development, preferably with vertically integrated consumer productsB.S., M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related fieldExpert C programming skillsDeep familiarity with Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)Embedded software development and optimization expertiseUnderstanding of multi-threaded and multi-core programmingProficient with software development on microcontrollers and hardware bring-upExperience with software development for systems with live sensor inputsHands-on experience debugging in real world environments with embedded diagnostics tooling such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, JTAG etcGood team player with great communication skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced development environmentPassionately motivated to take ideas from R&D phase to productionExperience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, UDS, and DOIP is a plusExperience with battery monitoring firmware and/or power electronics is a plusPay DisclosureSalary Range/Hourly Rate for Vancouver, BC, Canada-Based Applicants: $137,300-$171,600 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).Benefits SummaryRVT provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26.
