We are seeking a seasoned professional with a strong background in corporate and upper mid-market lending, credit underwriting, and loan structuring. Job Description The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of financial markets and treasury, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. They will be responsible for managing and growing an existing portfolio of relationships, working directly with clients and prospects to perform due diligence on prospective opportunities, and recommending and negotiating terms and conditions with existing and prospective clients. In collaboration with Relationship Managers, the successful candidate will actively participate in the negotiation of loan documentation with clients and external counsel, manage workflow and review junior team members'' credit submissions to ensure compliance with group standards and internal policies, and regularly interact with Credit Risk Management to facilitate authorization of transactions in accordance with the Bank''s risk guidelines. The Director, Execution will also work closely with teammates to ensure that client and collateral files are updated in a timely manner, help manage the National Client Group, Western Canada portfolio to ensure covenants remain in compliance with agreed upon terms & conditions, and assist the Head of Credit Execution, Western Canada, as required, in reviewing the credit quality of the National Client Group, Western Canada portfolio. The role requires a strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to form and present well-reasoned recommendations. The successful candidate will have experience in training and coaching junior staff, proficiency in the Microsoft suite of products, and a proven track record of success in corporate or upper mid-market commercial banking. Required Skills and Qualifications Bachelor''s degree in accounting, business, economics, finance, or a related field. Professional designation(s) and/or an advanced degree is considered a strong asset. Minimum of 8 10 years of experience in corporate or upper mid-market commercial banking. Demonstrated experience with credit underwriting, loan structuring (bilateral/syndicated transactions), financial statement analysis, financial modeling, capital structure assessment, and legal documentation review & negotiation. Proficiency with the Microsoft suite of products used in the creation of presentations, confidential information memoranda and other written documents. Experience in training and coaching junior staff.
