Job Description

Under the responsibility of the Director of Operations MAPEI Canada, the position holder organizes, plans, directs and controls all the sectors' activities for Production, Shipping and Receiving, Maintenance, Inventories, Purchasing and Quality Control.Main duties and responsibilitiesHires, supervises, disciplines, evaluates and discharges the employees of all the sectors under his (her) responsibility.Supervises production planning and work schedules and timetables.Supervises the planning of various projects.Supervises the planning of the equipment maintenance (preventive maintenance, breaks, etc.) as well as building maintenance.Makes sure that all activities in his sector respect the Quality Management System (ISO 9001)and Environmental Management System (ISO14001) standards and has the appropriate improvements done, when required.Must make sure that all his sectors meet the hygiene, salubrity and prevention of health and safety standards, that the accident investigations and analyses are being done in due time, that corrective actions are being taken immediately and this, on an every day basis; that the inspection reports are being analysed and that action is taken upon these.Must meet the objectives set by the Corporation, such as days without lost time accident, the % of OEE, manufacturing cost within the budget, the % of variation (error) in the inventories, the % of On time delivery, reducing the % of absence, retention, quality, Communicates the deliverables to his staff and employees.Prepares and submits various verbal or written reports to the Corporation and keeps it informed, in a general manner, of all activities.Must plan and execute a yearly budget and make sure to meet it.Keeps all the necessary statistics in order to revise the plants' activities.Maintains a continuous contact with the Corporation in order to solve various problems that may affect operations.Encourages employees to work in a safe manner and to respect applicable Health and Safety laws and regulations through regular meetings with the employees.Encourages Managers and Supervisors to develop and promote a safe workplace with their employees in order to mobilize them for this purposeSupports and analyses the recommendations from the Health and Security Committee and answers them in an acceptable delay.Carries out any other related task.Skills and competencies requiredEducation: BAC in an appropriate discipline.Bachelor in Engineering, an assetMember of the Corporation of Engineers, an assetValid drivers licenceYears of experience: 10 year experience in a similar organizational contextLanguages Spoken and Written : EnglishLeadership and team spiritBusiness knowledgeTime and priorities managementCapacity to challenge situation or the peopleCommunication skillsSense of planning and organizationCan work under pressureStrategic mindOffice automation softwares: Excel, PowerPoint, WordData entry software: D365Technical software: Infor 7iMsProjectSafety practicesProject managementSupervision skillsDistribution and storage logisticsQuality standardsProduction planning and buying process
