Practice Based Educator - Acute Medicine/Cardiology - Full Time Temporary (Until approximately April 2027) - Markham Stouffville HospitalOak Valley Health is hiring a Practice-Based Educator to support clinical practice and education in Inpatient Medicine/Cardiology units and Outpatient Medicine/Cardiology clinic at Markham Stouffville Hospital. This is a full-time temporary role until approximately April 2027.What You Will DoDevelop curriculum, deliver classroom instruction and clinical training, and assess learner progress.Mentor staff, provide constructive feedback, and promote a culture of safety and interprofessional practice.Collaborate with external institutions, engage in research to enhance clinical education, and support organizational initiatives through corporate education and training.Lead in curriculum development and stay updated on healthcare advancements to improve patient care.What You Bring To The RoleCurrent registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) as a Registered Nurse in good standing.Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required; Masters degree in a related field is required or in progress.Membership with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO).Minimum 3 years leadership experience in an acute care setting (preferred).Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in an acute medicine/cardiology care setting, including demonstrated experience with cardiac rhythm interpretation, peripheral/central line care, and cardiac step-down care.Coronary Care Nursing Certificate 1 and 2 required; Certificate 3/4 or Critical Care certification preferred.Current BLS and ACLS certification with Heart and Stroke; BLS/ACLS instructor status with Heart and Stroke preferred.Experience teaching adults using adult learning principles, including curriculum development, simulation, assessment and evaluation.Strong leadership, coaching, mentoring, and conflict resolution skills; ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.Proficiency with Meditech EHR (CPOE) and MS Office; commitment to safe practice and adherence to OHSA and hospital policies.Work ScheduleMondayFriday, Days. Flexible as required due to operational needs.
