Define System Architecture (logical, functional, physical). Lead scope and requirement discussions with technical teams and customers. Manage System Requirements and maintain the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM). Understand subsystems provided by external suppliers and ensure system-level compatibility. Identify, define, and manage system interfaces. Decompose System Requirements to lower levels and coordinate with engineering teams. Serve as the cross-functional technical interface across various teams. Support technical decisions, design reviews, testing, and system integration. Perform impact analysis for system changes and support configuration management. Ensure compliance with applicable standards (CMMI, CENELEC, AREMA, IEEE, IPC, etc.). Support external stakeholders and participate in budget estimation. Required Skills / Knowledge : 10+ years engineering experience, with at least 5 years as a lead systems or design engineer. Professional Engineer (PEO) license in Ontario (P.Eng) preferred. Experience with engineering lifecycle, HW/SW integration, and project delivery. Experience managing small to medium projects and teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, requirements management tools (e.g., Doors), PLM systems, defect tracking, and configuration tools. Strong leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills. Ability to quickly learn new technologies and communicate complex ideas clearly. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Deep understanding of Systems Engineering concepts: V-lifecycle, System Architecture, Requirements Management, Configuration and Interface Management, and interactions in electromechanical systems. Proven multi-tasking across multiple projects, detail-oriented, organized. Clear Criminal Background Check required. Desired Skills / Knowledge : Experience with construction/civil work and standards. Expertise in High-Speed Rail, Power Systems, EMI/EMC, Telecoms, Control Systems, Signaling, CBTC, or ERTMS systems.
