About the Project: The Eglinton Crosstown West Extension will bring the Eglinton Crosstown LRT another 9.2 kilometres farther west, creating a continuous rapid transit line from the east end of Toronto into Mississauga. The Stations, Rail, and Systems (SRS) package encompasses the design, construction, integration, and commissioning of key project components. Position Overview The Subcontractor Coordinator will be responsible for managing and administering subcontractor activities on the ECWE Stations, Rail and Systems Project. This role ensures that subcontractor performance, documentation, compliance, and deliverables meet contractual obligations, project schedules, quality standards, and safety requirements. Key Responsibilities Subcontractor Management: Act as the primary point of contact between project management and subcontractors. Coordinate subcontractor scope, deliverables, and work sequencing to align with overall project milestones. Track subcontractor progress, productivity, and compliance with schedule, cost, quality, and safety standards. Support subcontractor onboarding, orientation, and adherence to site procedures. Contract & Documentation Administration: Maintain subcontractor records, agreements, change orders, and correspondence. Support the preparation and review of subcontractor invoices and progress claims. Ensure subcontractors comply with project-specific requirements, including insurance, bonding, and permits. Assist in drafting, reviewing, and administering Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, and transmittals. Coordination & Communication: Facilitate coordination between subcontractors, consultants, suppliers, and internal project teams. Schedule and chair subcontractor coordination meetings, issue meeting minutes, and track action items. Proactively identify risks, conflicts, or scope gaps and escalate issues for resolution. Quality, Safety & Compliance: Monitor subcontractor adherence to quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) procedures. Ensure subcontractors follow health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, reporting, and site protocols. Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews as required by the project and client. Qualifications Post-secondary education in construction management, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 35+ years experience in subcontractor coordination, contract administration, or project coordination on large infrastructure or transportation projects. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, subcontractor management, and documentation processes. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in project management and construction software (e.g., MS Office Suite, SharePoint, Primavera P6, Procore). Understanding of rail, transit, or civil infrastructure projects considered an asset.
