The Associate Litigation Lawyer will pursue the advancement of personal injury claims through various litigation steps. The primary goal is to be proficient at all aspects of personal injury litigation. The successful candidate will work with our Managing Lawyer to support clients and the team. Responsibilities Provide excellent client care including regular contact by telephone, email, and in-person Track and manage Statement of Claim filing and service limitation deadlines Perform Questionings, including reviewing and understanding client files to assist in preparation Prepare legal documents related to litigation and perform legal research related to client files Develop a complete understanding of the life of a client file and its various phases Understand and stay up to date on Rules of Court, industry-related materials, and relevant changes Assess client files: conduct case law research, summarize medical documentation, obtain additional information as needed, and quantify personal injury claims Complete liability investigations as necessary Attend Court for chambers applications or as necessary Prepare for JDR or ADR, including drafting briefs Prepare for and attend at trial Perform notary functions What You Are Believe that no lawyer is an island; all team members contribute and traditional law firm culture is out-of-date Positive, helpful attitude with excellent people skills Exceptional attention to detail with high accuracy Proactive and visionary thinker with a resourceful work ethic and strong analytical skills Committed to personal growth and continuous improvement; fast learner who develops new skills Enthusiastic about office culture; can build strong internal relationships and handle sensitive situations with empathy, tact, and confidentiality Strong time management, professionalism, and discretion Proven leadership skills in a fast-paced, high-volume environment J.D. or LL.B from a recognized Canadian or international institution 5-10+ years of applicable legal experience Active member in good standing with the Law Society of Alberta What We Offer At Litco Law, we know that a caring team is a team that is cared for.
