Executing assigned Portfolio, Program, and Project Assurance activities. Providing support for the oversight and tracking of CNL PMO Assurance activities and SME assignments, identifying issues, and proactively initiating corrective actions when required. Leading in the drafting of the reporting used in the delivery of core subject matter Project Assurance activities and findings to meet CNL PMO and Client requirements: these reports are often provided to executive stakeholders and must be of the highest quality. Proposing and supporting the implementation of subject matter solutions for Gating & Sanctioning, Project Assurance, Readiness for Delivery, Project Support and PMO Operations process improvement initiatives. Supporting the development of governance, processes and tools to be used by the MPOs and Projects for Project Assurance processes through project development and execution. Participating in monthly analyses to assist with the identification of Project Assurance trends or issues and proactively working with the PMO, CNL Mission(s) and Projects to mitigate negative trends and develop recovery strategies. Supporting the development of training materials and training of the CNL PMO Assurance activities and associated documentation, as well as liaising with the CNL and PMO Training organizations. Leading and supporting project identification and definition of risk threats and opportunities, evaluating potential impact, and developing effective risk mitigation measures to reduce potential cost and schedule impacts to the projects. Defining and implementing a risk management framework, including managing the implementation of project-level risk assessment with support to the Missions Program-level risks through facilitation of risk management processes at the project level. Validating and ensuring that all project teams comply with the Risk Management Framework (Plans and Procedures therein) and other supplementary risk-related procedures while continually seeking to grow and optimize the framework through demonstrated experiences. Preparing weekly, monthly and annual report(s) for risk data analysis. Providing support to all project teams on preparing and managing Risk Management Plan and the Project Risk Registers. Communicating and training project team members in risk management processes across the organization and advising management on how to enhance risk management effectiveness and maturity over time. Performing regular Monte Carlo Simulations (both cost and schedule) and using the output to develop metrics for project reporting for decision-making. Providing project teams support on the development and management of Risk Drawdown Plans. Providing project managers and mission Directors with timely assessments of the current status of all risks, the occurrence of any triggers, the effectiveness of any mitigation plans that are being executed and corrective plans for actions that are not working. Providing project maturity assessments and readiness reviews such as TRL (Technical Readiness Level), PDRI (Project Definition Rating Index), Purchasing benchmarks, CRR (Construction Readiness Reviews), and Contract Claim development and review. This function will support this evolution in maturity. Developing and implementing SME Kickstart activities that increase projects' ability to successfully achieve a higher level of maturity in preparation for Gates and Project Reviews. Supporting the emerging CNL needs for the leadership of PM, PL, and other PM support resourcing as defined by the PMO Director and PMO General Manager, including sourcing, onboarding, and training core subject matter project personnel. Providing input into the development and maintenance of the PMO MCPs, tools and templates related to Scope Management and Project Assurance. Supporting SMEs with training in the use of ATOM and workflows required for creating and revision/review/approval/release of documents, ensuring compliance with Information Management quality assurance practices, and working with Information Management staff to address/resolve any ATOM workflow related issues. Identifying and recommending improvements to any CNL-wide procedures that affect one's own work area. Collaborating with others to develop changes to work procedures utilizing innovative approaches. Recommending policy improvements and encouraging/supporting innovation, among others. Responding to situations to contain. mitigate short-term risk in accordance with established processes, procedures and guidelines. Ensuring personal cooperation with teammates to support emergency response processes and ensuring that safety standards are followed. Participating in industry organization activities that support subject matter expertise to promote awareness, including involvement and participation in committee initiatives, writing and presentation of whitepapers, and organization leadership. What we are looking for: Education A university degree or college diploma from an accredited school in a relevant field, OR similar relevant experience commensurate with the role in lieu of a degree, will be considered. Experience 12+ years of increasing responsibility and relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 3 5+ years of leadership and/or supervisor experience, or the ability to motivate others to perform to expectations is an asset. Experience in an influencing role within project management, information management, gating & sanctioning, and project assurance activities within the highly regulated industries (nuclear and science-driven industries are preferred). Experience in delivering short-term assurance deliverables to meet the demands and rigour required for the authorization of portfolios, programs, and projects. Strong understanding of the regulatory, contractual, and stakeholder environments in which CNL operates and relevant experience delivering results in similar contexts. Strong understanding of Earned Value Management principles and techniques. Including working knowledge of ANSI EIS 748 guidelines. Strong knowledge of work decomposition into work breakdown structures and advanced work planning methodologies and its documentation. Knowledge of and a thorough understanding of Gating & Sanctioning and Project Assurance processes, and Project Change Request processes; along with an understanding of all MCPs.
