Base pay range $85,000.00/yr - $105,000.00/yr Amuse is a platform that helps people discover local arts and culture. What youll do Contribute to our core backend API that powers the Amuse platform (the app for curious people) by jumping in feet first Break down problems into clean, efficient solutions with guidance from senior engineers Help design and maintain APIs and data models that are reliable and well-structured Explore how GIS data and algorithms can connect data points in new and meaningful ways Collaborate closely with other developers, designers, and team members to bring features to life Grow your coding practices with an emphasis on respect, thoughtfulness, and team collaboration What you need Some Go / Golang experience or equivalent in similar strongly typed compiled languages like Rust, Java, C++ Exposure to REST APIs and real-time applications Interest in data analytics and how it can solve real-world problems Excitement about AI-powered tools and how they can support your learning and workflow Strong desire to learn about new tools and techniques, and have an eagerness to share new ideas and solutions on every project Familiarity with relational databases (Postgres, bonus if youve touched PostGIS) Willingness to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with peers and mentors Who you are You want to learn and grow among an excellent team of engineers You care about quality and pay attention to detail Youre curious about how things work and love figuring out new concepts You welcome feedback and see it as an opportunity to grow You focus on solutions, asking not if this can be done but how it can be done Youve worked on personal or school projects involving maps, GIS, or data-heavy systems Youve experimented with APIs, data modeling, or algorithm-driven projects Youre excited about media types like audio, video, images, or geographic data You have experience in small teams, startups, or collaborative projects outside of school/work You enjoy museums and learning about the world around you What we offer Salary based on experience Equity compensation Generous vacation policy and paid parental leave Health stipend Fully remote / work from home, autonomous work environment Twice a year in-person meetups with travel Opportunity for growth and upward mobility Note: due to high volume of applications, we strongly recommend including a brief cover letter with your application.
