Complete Shipping Solutions is seeking an experienced and licensed Canadian Customs Broker to lead, manage, and expand our customs brokerage operations across Canada. Responsibilities Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management Ensure full compliance with CBSA regulations, the Customs Act, CARM, and international trade agreements (CUSMA, CPTPP, WTO rules). Maintain and renew Complete Shipping Solutions Customs Brokerage License and act as the licensed officer with CBSA. Oversee classification, valuation, origin, duty/tax assessments, and special import/export requirements. Implement and monitor internal audit processes to minimize compliance risks and penalties. Leadership & Operations Management Lead, mentor, and develop a team of customs professionals, fostering compliance, client service excellence, and continuous learning. Create, implement, and monitor SOPs for customs clearance and brokerage operations. Collaborate with freight forwarding, logistics, and compliance teams to deliver integrated solutions. Stay current on customs legislation and industry trends, ensuring timely staff training and organizational readiness. Financial & Strategic Oversight Manage the brokerage P&L, budgets, and key performance metrics. Set and monitor revenue, cost, and profitability goals. Recommend and implement technology investments (automation, customs software, CARM integration) to drive efficiency and scalability. Business Development & Growth Develop and execute a growth strategy to expand brokerage operations across Canada. Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a subject-matter expert for importers and exporters. Identify opportunities to cross-sell freight forwarding, consulting, and supply chain services. Represent Complete Shipping Solutions at trade associations, industry events, and with regulatory bodies. Qualifications Licensed Customs Broker in Canada (mandatory). 710 years of experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance, or international logistics, including 3+ years in a leadership role. Strong knowledge of Canadian customs regulations, tariff classification, valuation, origin, and CARM. Proven track record of business development and client growth. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with customs brokerage software (e.g., CDS, Cargowise, Descartes) and MS Office.
