About the Role Reporting to the Director, Payment and Banking Services, the Associate Director, Payment and Banking Services (Associate Director) is accountable for UVics service standards and compliance requirements related to the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking and Commercial Card (C Card) functions. The Associate Director leads the development and implementation of best practice processes, programs, policies and systems that support the efficient processing of incoming and outgoing payments in support of units across the University. They provide guidance on operational issues, interpret UVic policy and are responsible for setting the unit service levels. They oversee the management of fraud cases and develop risk mitigation strategies. In addition, they manage key partner relationships with banking and financial service providers. This is an incredible opportunity for a financial professional looking to contribute to the oversight and direction of a high-volume unit responsible for ensuring and evolving organizational audit procedures and compliance across payment and banking services and systems. This position requires a client-centered leader with the ability to navigate incoming and outgoing payment transactions while serving a large and diverse population of vendors, faculty, staff, students, and non-employees. The ideal candidate will have a professional accounting designation (CPA) supported by over five (5) years of progressive and related experience, preferably from a post-secondary or not-for-profit, change forward environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. The salary for this position is an ME 10, with a hiring range of $101k-126k (salary is determined through knowledge, experience, and internal equity) and is supplemented with a comprehensive total compensation and benefits package, including a pension plan.
